I have just promoted 13thGeneral to Global Moderator. I've been thinking about having extra staff for a while now and made him a proposition weeks ago. I am happy that he has now accepted my proposition. As he is a longtime member of the community and is well liked and respected I think everyone will appreciate his new position. So without further ado...

All hail 13thGeneral!

Some of you may have noticed that there is another moderator on board by the name of jimstiles. This may require some explanation as he is a relatively new member. Jim and I have been acquainted since long before this forum came to be and he has come over on my invitation. As for why I have made him a moderator, that is a very long story which I would rather leave for what it is. Perhaps Jim will care to explain it himself and properly introduce himself to the forum.

I have known Lord Ba'al since 2002, when the Goa'uld System Lords had a summit where they accepted Anubis back into the ranks of the System Lords.

I wonder how long I could get away with that explanation.

I have known the person using Lord Ba'al as a username since the first season of the television program Stargate Universe, which would correspond to calendar years 2009-2010. We met on the bulletin board devoted to those fans of the Stargate movie and television programs who were not fans of the program Stargate Universe. The name of this bulletin board was SGUSucks.com. This bulletin board continues to exist as SciFi-Nexus.com. For reasons that are too lengthy to go into, this bulletin board is virtually dead with most of the former SGUSucks.com participants on Gatefans.net.

Other items:

1. I live in West Virginia.
2. I like Linux.
3. While I am not a biological determinist, biology does play a strong role in some behavioral and civilizational issues.
4. I am a Libertarian.
5. I am a traditional, Calvinist, Protestant Christian.

So, IMO, if you desire 4 or 5, it belongs off main board in controversial corner. I will moderate them, but that stuff is acid to forums so I won't post any opinions on them. I DO NOT agree with anything posted in any board just because a poster or MOD did. We are all about free speech so they exist, they are bound by all proboards rules. If you see an infraction, please send a PM. If you are like me and don't prefer an arena such as that you can easily avoid it, I know I prefer more gaming fun.
