Well it looks like the obvious has been spotted again. The current waves of canning at 22cans that is. I just looked today and noticed that at least 3 people left/got canned in march 2016. Two of them have been mentioned in the colin leaving thread. One obviously being colin and one being Kyreal. Tom was a junior intern coder. Kyreal was head of production Colin was 'PR' Rumor has it: Porteus's linkedin says he still works for 22cans so officially at least we can't say he's left. Perhaps he's taking a long holiday before he goes? Of note: DeNA china. With Bruno leaving/made redundant this is the next obvious wave of slimming down and outsourceing we are seeing happen at this studio. It's at least signs of belt tightening. My suspicion (and I think I've talked about it on these forums) is they'll be finalising the "china" launch of this game really really really soon now. Colins linked in mentions him working on press releases for china so that was the focus of his 'real' job at 22cans. It was never us. So I'd say that DeNA will take over their next foray into communication in the chinease market and we'll never really know how that goes (unless there is some one who wants to bother tracking it and reporting?). I'd say they've basicly ditched communication with us as a now exhausted market. There is just no point for them to do so except to have aynen and muir occasionally say "hey! development is still happening!" etc etc. So yeah. Yet another slimming down of the studio. We'll have to wait for september to see the tax return type stuff that's scheduled to be posted on companies house.

"You can be a member of some 1930's organisation and blame them, or you take your own responsibility" "You can play along in the 22scams ploy, or you can take your own responsibility" Neither happened of course.

Links work fine for me.
Tom is a bit of a surprise. Colin's redundency was almost expected, given that 22Cans don't do PR. I always wondered what he actually did all day. Andy would have probably been on a decent salary which would have made him an appealing target. But as a "junior programmer", Tom would be cheap as chips. They really are thinning the ranks.
It looks like these guys aren't struggling to find work elsewhere, which is good news. Unemployment isn't something I'd wish on anyone.

While I'm sorry to hear people are being made redundant I'm not surprised. 22Cans hasn't produced anything meaningful in quite a long time and you just cant keep going on like that. Are we sure they haven't released GODUS China already? Surely they must if they are going to. What could possibly be delaying it this long?

I'm not aware whether they've done the China release or not, but I do know that doing business in China is a massive PITA for non-Chinese companies. So it's possible they're still trying to iron out the details, especially given the general ineptitude of 22Cans.

Has 22Cans canned 22 Cans? Can 22Cans can 22 Cans?
The world may never know.

Was he ever even there... or was he just a brilliantly conjured up smokescreen to make it appear things were changing... [/tinfoil]

what is the last verifiable proof of him being there? Any video or photo of him sat there in the office would really be the only unquestionable evidence. That said, when was the last mention of him, or post fro him, in any official regards? I can't investigate atm as I'm at work.

I'd assume the last time he was visible was in that picture of them testing out the new combat feature. If he has left, its pretty hard to guess his leaving date because of the cone of silence. This is just one more sign of the insanity of 22Cans.

Looks like Anthony Straub, producer for both 22Cans and The Trail, has moved on and lists his 22Cans tenure as ending in May.
As long as we hear nothing from the studio (and this latest period of silence must be the most profoundly uncommunicative they have ever been) there's no reason to think some of these people aren't moving on due to normal staff turnover and career development opportunities. Noticeably more people are dropping off the radar than are turning up on it, though. It is a complete mystery who is actually working at the studio right now and what they're working on. Does this matter? I would argue that it absolutely DOES, given that Godus/Godus Wars is still being sold as an Early Access title, which means consumers are still being asked to fork over money for this game on the premise that development is on-going and there's still the intention that the ideas originally pitched will be realised. The store page, plus the very fact that it is in Early Access, implies it is still in development. This seems doubtful.
The current thinking, of course, is that there is a huge onus on Early Access customers to do all the research into games before making the decision to buy. They might sensibly look on 22Cans' homepage to do this. What would they see? A website dedicated to Godus, with no mention that resources are being diverted to the development of a different game. A whole team of people listed on the "About us" page, most of whom no longer work there, and haven't for many months. Hilariously, the 'latest news' page doesn't specify the year, so it's almost beginning to look current again - the last update is listed as 'June 19th' (2015, that is). As others have pointed out, there is absolutely no mention of Godus Wars anywhere.
Godus continues to repeatedly demonstrate how flawed and exploitable the Early Access model is.

At this point, 22Cans is absolutely, profoundly, and completely, a joke of a game company. This is likely the end of Peter Molyneux's game design career - nobody is going to support him, or anything he's attached to, ever again (and, frankly, shouldn't). It's time to retire.

I agree, it's a complete farce now. Next thing well read Simon has left on his linked in page.
