Can anyone explain to me why a site that looks like this...  ...ranks higher in the Google results when I search for " godus forum"? I bet it has something to do with meta tagging. I don't think that is something I actually have any influence over on this site.  Right now we're coming in as the first result of the second page, which would be number 11. I find it somewhat weird that an active discussion board with hundreds of visitors and many threads would rank lower on the Google index than a site that has had exactly three threads created in the past 8 months, each consisting of only the opening post and no replies. By the way, the url for that place is www.gamespot.com/godus/forums/. Does anybody have any ideas on how to improve the Google ranking for this forum? |

Unfortunately we are only the 45th result (page 5) when someone searches Google for " Godus". I would like to improve that. |

Free forums don't get any particular preferential treatment when it comes to searches. Maybe as an admin there's an option to pay for SEO?

Just checked the ranking for the fun of it.
"godus" - 27th search result
"godus forum" - 3rd search result
"godus board" - 1st search result
"godus discussion" - 5th search result
"22cans" - 22nd search result
"Peter Molyneux" - no mention in 32 pages of search results
"Jack Attridge" - 24th search result
Apparently we don't talk about Peter Molyneux enough. Perhaps I should create a special forum section named Peter Molyneux. That might draw attention.
