There's a rule that says not to argue with a mod and one that says not to do any backseat moderating. What do you think would happen if I'd approach Muir and made a suggestion about his moderating style? I don't really care much anyway. I can easily circumvent the problem by posting on here instead of there. I'm a bit disappointed though that the lighthearted singalong was interrupted, though on the other hand I could see the singalong get nasty awful quick. So I do understand the reasoning behind it. Or perhaps there was no real reason behind it and he's just having his period. Whatever.

Sure it might have gone bad without his intervention but it went bad with it so better to take the chance.
The truth is online communities self moderate quite well, they only need mods for when things go feral.
Muir is out of line because he's pre-emptively moderating. Topics evolve and humour (yes that includes sarcasm even though it is the lowest form of wit) is the only thing worth visiting forums for.
I like to think even though 22cans and the community disagree on a lot about GODUS we still agree that laughing at ourselves and others is worth doing.
In terms of off topic unless someone is posting random shit out of the blue I say let it roll. Most topics die in a matter of days anyway so what's the harm if they go on a little detour during their brief life.

People are generally going to say what they want anyway. They'll just find another way to do it.

I like the people at Steam, I don't post there much, because of the constraints. You have to be able to laugh at your own mistakes or you are doomed. Trying to constantly put out a campfire by blowing on it, will only turn it into an inferno.

Hello
I know this post is old but I just found it. It's interesting to see a post where a conversation you had on steam is the main topic!
Just to confirm, No I am not peters kid.
I am also not Cleverbot
And this is just how I feel about the game. I know a lot of people hate the game and I can understand their reasoning but to me the game is enjoyable. Of course there is A lot to be changed but I think it will become better for those who at the minuet hate it or whatever.

Seriously?!?!? He did that? Those posts only serve to lighten the mood in an otherwise rather violent forum and then he has to ruin the fun. I just don't understand. People with God complexes should not be Mods. It isn't a God complex. It's a dorm guard complex.

Yeah, I totally can see it being compared to an University/College dorm Resident Assistant hightened sense of worth and authority. I've met some seriously egotistical and pompous RA's and am glad I never had to actuality live in dorms.

When you've experienced as much of Godus as some of the people that currently feel the game is severely lacking in content and that find that waiting on timers isn't exactly the definition of having a great time.

There are plenty of people that love F2p. Zinga still makes a few bucks still these days. I have no problem with people liking it. I just did not back this type of game and was told it would never be one. I still hold them accountable to make the game that was described in the kickstarter.
