In this video, games industry legend Peter Molyneux (22can's Lead Creative & CEO) takes time out to tell you all about how he started making videogames and the changes he's seen over the course of his career, the reasons behind his decision to set up 22cans and the working atmosphere he's fostered, as well as what makes the studio's approach to development so unique.
Peter also describes his favourite aspect of Godus as well as the parts of the game of which he's the most proud, plus he reveals what games he likes to play and how he likes to relax when not dreaming up his next brilliantly bonkers idea.
...oh and there's another cheeky tease right at the end for all Godus players looking forward to our forthcoming Settlements revamp update. Enjoy!

Hooray! I've been looking forward to hearing more from Peter ever since the kickstarter. [/sarc]

Last little bit seems to be a statue that masked people are praying around maybe? Top left says "Tutorial Happiness active 3" and also "Tutorial Astari active 2". Astari maybe a new type of follower (replacement for buffers maybe? Sounds kinda roman/latin but it's not an actual thing as far as I know).

I would suggest that the music reminds me of a nursery rhyme. I am sure it is might to be zen but I find it childlike. This is a cool vid from PM showing how he sees the world, but does he really think we are ready to sing Cum-ba-yah while playing Godus?
On another note, I wonder if we ever will start to see some of these personalized statues backers were promised?

Okay, I took the time to watch this video and I'm sorry but I'm not going to be nice. This is essentially 13.5 minutes of hot air followed by a 20 second sales speech. The amazing thing is that apparently Peter doesn't even need his electronic cigarette in order to blow hot air.
What I don't understand is why we're getting this video of Peter Molyneux. Haven't we seen enough of him yet? We wanted to meet the team. We've already seen like 60 or so videos of Peter.
I would like to see what Fabs has to say.

He's video number 3 of 22 - we'll get there, but tbh most people (i.e. everyone who has bought the game but who don't post about Godus every day) really want to hear from him. Like you, I'm looking forward to shining the spotlight on less familiar members of the team. Next up is Production. Btw, I'm looking forward to doing Fabs' video too

Cheeky tease = Portals? I guess portals. Not portals, but you should know that I <3 portals and enjoy thinking with portals whenever the opportunity allows.

T'would be a fun God Power. Got a lost follower? Portal him back to civilisation. Got a lost follower that's a bit of an arse and insists on repeatedly getting lost and staying lost? Teleport him into the middle of the deepest volcano in the middle of the deepest ocean... you get the idea.

Given the way that Portal works (it recreates/doubles the level map every time you place a portal), I don't even know if that's doable in Godus.

Sod portals, I just want to be able to toss followers about like you could in Black & White, that was such a satisfying mechanic (especially combined with that one guy in I think the 3rd world who couldn't actually die whatever you did to him)

Cheeky tease? Seriously, cheeky just sounds... well, cheesey. And why does everything have to be a "tease "? I'm not really interested being dragged along while 22cans plays coy with our emotions. And another thing, what in bloody hell is up with me sounding like a complete wanker nitpicking about trivial grammatical nomenclature? I'll just sod off now. Pip-pip.
{Sorry. I got bored during my lunch break at work, but couldn't think of anything more valid to add to the conversation at this juncture.}

[Given the way that Portakl works (it recreates/doubles the level map every time you place a portal), I don't even know if that's doable in Godus. Are you sure about that? It would seem to me that there would still only have to be one world kept in active memory and all that would need to be added is two other viewports on that world inside the viewport on the world.

Yeah, I'm 99.9% sure that's how Valve made Portal 1. They may have changed it for the sequel, IDK.

Answer honestly guys, did you expect there would be some disliking of the video before you posted it?

I find they fly nicely through the air when FoG is used to remove an old abode...
In terms of the muzak in the video I thought I'd managed to avoid that kind of tuneage by turning off my in game sound. Turning off the video sound seemed pointless!

Yeah, I'm 99.9% sure that's how Valve made Portal 1. They may have changed it for the sequel, IDK. That's not how it works. The name of the game is really a sort of rendering programmer's joke. Portals are used constantly in all 3D games, especially first person shooters. You just don't know it. If you see a door through a wall, everything through the door is very likely actually a portal. It's all a bunch of rendering tech which I don't really understand in detail but basically a portal in Portal is just a dressed up portal that shouts at you "HEY IM A PORTAL" instead of other portals in the game that are sneakily trying to convince you they're doors when they're actually portals. Disclaimer: I may not know exactly what I'm talking about. Futher reading: stackoverflow.com/questions/13167192/portal-effect-in-openglen.wikipedia.org/wiki/Portal_rendering

Disclaimer: I may not know exactly what I'm talking about. Nice post on the portals. But let's talk about something else. How often would you have had to wear the Hat of Shame so far had the had been instituated when project Godus started?
