I figure there is a pretty reasonable chance that new mobile players might come along to these forums if they have questions/problems or whatever, seeing as how this is the biggest godus forum around. So basically this is a thread for those people who want to ask questions about godus mobile & we might be able to help you out.
Note to regulars: can we please not make this into a "F2P mobile game sux" thread, there are plenty of places for that already and it'd be nice if we could actually encourage some people to join the community.

We will be releasing Godus on Android in the coming months. We'll be sure to make a big announcement about it when we do.

Some more tongue-in-cheek questions: -Can I avoid Mobage? -Does the later button at the review screen really work? -Why don't sticker packs have descriptions?

I will rule it with an iron fist and crush any sign of dissent against my authoritarian rule... so basically exactly the same way I'll be treating my followers in Godus

We've not heard figures about mobile stuff from 22cans, but I think it's worth pointing out that there have been over 10,000 reviews on the american godus alone (plus another 6-7000 on GB, FR & DE). According to my itunes, it's currently listed 9th in free apps, nestling nicely inbetween facebook and snapchat. So basically, it looks like a pretty successful launch to me. Hopefully the server issues tonight won't dent download numbers, but I reckon they are doing at the very least ok, which is good news for everyone involved, including us

People are simply not as naive as PM had hoped. We all understand that cozy=small, vintage=old and Invest to play regenesis of a god game=watered mobile f2p on a PC platform.
and so, we have the Y/denture cream/frozen yogurt....I will hold out my final judgement till we get the X/toothpaste/ice cream.
This game with these timers should never have been released even as a F2p, it is insulting to even Farmville players. This is massive greed pure and simple. I think it has overstepped, even on SO, when they say a mine will take 2 hours to build, it takes 2 hours, pretty much exactly. The longest timer I can think of takes about 12 hours and that is for an explorer to find a treasure, not really needed for main gameplay. The rest of the timers range from 2 minutes to 4 hours. Much more reasonable for those players that wish to play with paying more and yet still generates good coin for the DEVs by those that are not willing to wait. When you have timers as long as Godus then this is just a smack in the face and tantamount to a knife to your throat, play it our way or pay extra. For now, fuck that. That is not a game, that is punishment. I have more much fun things to do like pay my taxes, reconcile my debt and scrubbing the toilet than "play" Godus with these F2p mechanics still running rampant through it.
I am also going to say that if this game is not really in it's final stages, then it should not have been released.
I will remain hopeful for whenever the real PC sprint happens.

As far as we know, are the timers in the mobile release identical to the timers in the present PC release? If this is the case I don't really see that users have loads of other things to do while waiting for timers and therefore are not pressured to buy gems.

Games are supposed to have stuff to do. I can sit and stare at my walls all day for the same amount of fun.

~snip~ When you have timers as long as Godus then this is just a smack in the face and tantamount to a knife to your throat, play it our way or pay extra. For now, fuck that. That is not a game, that is punishment. Exactly. The hand holding is very bothersome. It's obvious to everyone on both platforms, which does not bode well for future success. They need to drop most of it from the PC game, or at least offer a "Skip Tutorial" option on both platforms. And you can actually do those things while "playing" Godus, because of all the stinking timers and waiting. Again, exactly. This doesn't seem like a typical " Beta" release, because it appears so very far from being even close to what most people would expect a beta to be - still, even after more than a year of development and player feedback, it feels like an early pre-beta at best. The progress just seems so random and disjointed, I can't see any path towards a completed coherent game (at least not one I'd want to play). It's very different from v1.0 and yet still suffers much of the same problems; they've just changed how we experience and interact with those problems. And, as I've said before, I actually had more fun playing v1.3, so this almost feels like they're just changing things for the sake of making it appear they've progressed the development. I can't say I'm really all that hopeful anymore, because it's just way past my usual level of patience; I'm more optimistically ambivalent now, with a smidgen of cynical.

Hopefully the server issues tonight won't dent download numbers, but I reckon they are doing at the very least ok, which is good news for everyone involved, including us Very true. And the server snafu was thankfully sorted fairly quick (a couple of hours) and hopefully didn't have too detrimental of an impact. Last I looked we had a little over 13,000 reviews (ie, not total downloads) and a 4+ rating on the American Godus iTunes. I'm sure people other than myself will be properly diving into the numbers come Monday, but overall it seems to be doing well. I've been knee-deep in social media and forum stuff since Thursday but for our mobile channels reactions seem to be relatively positive. There's negative reactions here and there too, of course (it'd be impossible to not have any). As someone who's primarily a PC gamer, it's been interesting seeing the reception on the mobile side of things. To be honest, I think 22cans has always had a loose definition of 'beta', so I see your point there. I do think that progress from v2.x forward has at least made more sense than it sometimes did with v1.x. Especially with BETA 2.1 having just come out I feel that it's starting to finally take some kind of shape. I feel that even the tone of the game has solidified. This latest update seems to have more personality than 1.3 ever did. Though, again, that's just my good ol' opinion and I totally recognize that there's some grains of salt that comes with that.

I'm on iOS and I'd really like the ability to zoom out more than how I'm able to right now. It's super annoying that I can only see part of my map instead of a larger portion of it (or all). Plus, the art is amazing and I'd like to view it as a whole if possible, rather than in fragments.
I'm also having trouble populating the empty wheat fields (aka how do I do it?). Would I need to build food factory thingies and then drag those farmers to the empty fields?
