I tried not to use gems, but the game eventually spent them for me without my permission, or telling me it was doing so. It's pretty easy to spot that GEMS will never go away. They are essential for mobile and will be a tradable ressource in hubworld. So also PC players need GEMS. Well then they could put the gems in hubworld and keep them out of the main game. Hmm, good point. Not sure how that would work, but then again I'm not a game designer. I think, if they insist on keeping them, they should be redefined as something else that makes more sense in the overall theme of the game; Souls, Spirit, Essence, Relics, Blessings, Sacraments, etc. I think the whole /cards/stickers/gems thing is supposed to give us the notion that we're just people playing gods - as was explained by Jack once - but the implementation was not done in a way that invokes that feeling. We are far removed from any sensation in that regard.

We are far removed from any sensation in that regard. If it was like I was playing a card game against other gods and the cards we played had consequences on what happened in the godus world to our followers and our foes' followers and terrain and stuff like that then that could be cool. I would for example play an earthquake card and direct it at a certain area on the map, but at the same time my foes would play cards as well. So then basically you'd get a turn based game while the simulation runs real time. Perhaps cards would be played every 5 or 10 minutes or so and in the time between gods would have time to sculpt or try to make progress to add new types of cards to their arsenal. But for something like that to work you really shouldn't have to be bothered as a god by placing houses and settlements and collecting belief and stuff like that.

Almost every feature and mechanic in Godus just feels like disjointed, jumbled up aspects of other games, without any real thorough principle on how everything will coexist and interact, especially in regards to the overarching theme of being Gods. There are signs here and there that they made some effort, in certain areas, to modify one feature to affect the others, but it's extremely imbalanced and not completely conceived. As per all issues, hopefully they can refocus and redirect the PC build into something more congruent during the "PC Sprint".

Well then they could put the gems in hubworld and keep them out of the main game. No, it's part of Homeworld in mobile Godus and will be a tradable good. What should PC user do with it if it has no value in their Homeworld? Don't forget, Hubworld will only be a series of minigames.

Just to be clear the hatred directed at Gems in this thread is all directed at the mobile platform right? Obviously the Gems on the PC platform are totally different to those on the mobile platform and are a great things (Source Peter M) which you can chose to use to speed things up which otherwise might take longer that desired or buy in-game resources you can't find. When I first saw Gems and how they can be used in the PC game, I, like most was knocked back thinking WTF does Peter come up with this strokes of Genius? Now the mobile Gems are Evil, basically forcing you to wait for things to happen or you can spend Gems to speed things up or spend Gems to get limited in-game resources. This is clearly ripped off from every other FTP game and Jack should e shamed of himself... Please forgive me as I know your intent, but "FUCK YOU THE ENTIRE CONCEPT AND NO CLAIMING IT IS ALL DIFF. BECAUSE WE CAN"T THROW CASH MEANS NOTHING! 22CANS IS THE SACK OF SHIT THAT DID THIS TO THEMSELVES. PLEASE, WITH ALL COURTESY CEASE YOUR "GAMER PEDOPHILIA" RAPE ATTEMPT, (only an immature gamer would fall for this total fail cash grab. I have a neighbor who's 8 year old son has picked up crapus. ripe for felching their momma's wallet 22cans?, you useless pile of excrement.) Please fuck yourselves and die (as a corrupt corp. entity. please don't assume my hatred for the corrupt decay that is 22cans is directed at any individual.) Oh, and the reviews continue to impress. Well done you creatively bankrupt greedy fucks.

follow to gem exchange is also incredibly annoying. wanted to sacrifice a bunch but they decided to just stand before the temple. My current exchange is 109 Gems for 97 followers also 1.12 gems per follower seems quit low you're telling me.

My current exchange is 109 Gems for 97 followers also 1.12 gems per follower seems quit low you're telling me. Lets not forget that it cost you 9700 belief to get those 109 gems; using the formula (Followers*Belief)1.12=Gems (f*b)1.12=g, 97f*100b=(9700b)1.12=109g That also isn't calculating the cost affect on hapiness. For the time it takes to generate 9700 belief, only to get 109 gems, seems hardly worth it. This 'game' is more of a statistical management program than a god game; we're essentially playing Accountants.

hey tigrismorte you should stop holding back and tell us what you really think Every time I hear on the news of an "Incident in the Guildford area" I think, "Shit, Tigrismorte has finally done it and gone postal in the 22Can's studio". Then I think of the reporter saying, the development team would have all been saved by the vast array of coding books they had hidden behind if only someone hadn't ripped half the pages out

I'll just foam as required. ( for what it is worth, I love cats too. Had one that had a leg amputated dur to damage when it was a stray and was diabetic. I gave it shots daily for 4 years. But it, as well as all others I've cared for, could care less about what I think. Which was, "Good cat! I am just a human, after all.")
