No, it's far worse than this. Here, the shadows around the character farther from him the darker, when it's opposite IRL - and that hurts much, much more.

As in, everything is saturated around you, but not with you and it's like invisible wall that you can't ever cross.

I remember playing that game a long long... long ass time ago, but not on that scale though.
