Okay seriously, I know multiple people mentioned this when v2.1 hit - but since nothing happened with it I'll ask it again.
Can whoever is in charge of programming the camera controls, or whoever knows why this is done in this way tell me. What is the mechanical or in-game reasoning for the camera turning to be locked at a certain degrees. Why do we need to turn 350 degrees BACK, if we could've just turned 10 degrees more in the direction we were heading?
I see no reason why this wouldn't be possible from an engine or game mechanic perspective. Neither do I see a reason why 'a god' doesn't have free movement in his own world.
The only reason I could think of is that you're afraid that mobile users would 'get lost' if they can turn all around - but from what I've heard mobile users do not have camera turning at all yet.
And if there is no logical reason for it to be this way (as I suspect...) Can you PLEAAAASE make it so we can just turn the camera around all the way. If only for the fact that I want to go spin in circles around one of the fancy settlement towers I've made and I want to admire it from all sides. (Admittedly, I want it because I'm getting sick and tired of having to turn BACK AND FORTH continuously when manipulating terrain... but okay)

Can we have camera snapping to 45 degree angles too? I like being methodical.

I think any such 'snapping' should be optional. Sometimes its nice, but other times I want to just be able to free look around. It'd be quite easy to make a keybind for it or a toggle.
Since if you can free turn you can also turn per fixed degrees. But being able to turn full circle is a must for me.

this thread takes me bake to the original Alpha release. While I totally agree the games needs the ability to rotate the camera so you can fill in gaps behind other lands I believe Peters used his standard line "Your playing the game totally wrong.." Sometimes I feel their are only 22 people in the world who know how this game should be played... Any they aren't talking...

Can we have camera snapping to 45 degree angles too? I like being methodical. I assume you mean much the same way as the isometric views in Rollercoaster Tycoon work? I think it would diminish the smooth fluid feeling of the game, and is a big factor in what sets Godus apart from many other games - despite it's various short commings - which is why a free rotating 360° camera is ideal; locking it kills the immersion and fluidity, and is very frustrating too.

Peter hates camera turning, thinks it gets player lost. (In reality, it was hard on some mobile processors and they were seeking excuses so they did not have to admit every decision of design was about mobile.)

All the more reason to get rid of it entirely. The faster we can break free the PC and mobile versions the better.
