In any 'normal' business, if the one calling the shots proves incompetent. Then it goes one of two ways. Either the business goes under, or they replace the one in charge with someone more fit for the job.

Oh and Jack isn't without responsibility here to. So Jack and peter are both too busy? How about Jack makes some time to talk about the design? There's also Jamie that we rarely see. He works as a technical designer...What's he up to lately?

Otherwise, the single question a week idea would be trivial to implement. Every tiny bit of information that is released passes through Peter's lips, for good or ill. He is the Alpha and the Omega of 22Cans, the Gatekeeper and the Keymaster of all that will be revealed. When the gates open and the skies darken, it will be Molyneux that steps through to usher in the end times for the human race. Look upon his visage and despair.

Yeah, it's just icing on the cake for that movie. Low budget, white guy playing an asian,, famous faces, terrible dialog; it almost reaches Buckaroo Bonzai levels of awesome.

From Steam thread: "This weeks update video - Delayed"Right... Peter is dyslexic... We know that by now. And frankly this 'excuse' is getting grating. Last I checked Peter isn't some snowflake - he's not unique here. Just going off of the boards there are countless of other users that are dyslexic. And if you do a bit of research you'll find more than enough industry professionals that cope with similar or more serious issues themselves. We've already pointed out that we don't really care what shape the interactions take. That we just want solid answers and results to back them up. So what value does putting so damned much emphasis on Peter's dyslexia? Its like they did at the start of Godus by continuously pointing out that Godus is still in beta/early development. Instead of focusing on showing results, they used it as an excuse, as a shield, to get away with NOT showing results. They key to getting a succesful game on the market is getting the right core features and a decent game to the correct audience. Not continuously coming up with reasons why you can NOT do so. Either use methods that 'work', circumventing the limitations of your team. Or use different people to work with for that particular field or task. If Peter isn't the most suitable person to do the talking - then have someone write him a script to keep to or whatever. Or you know, have someone else that isn't as impeded do the talking. If Peter insists on taking the spotlights, then stop giving out excuses and reasons why you CAN'T do something - and simply find things you CAN do to show results. Just work with it... Its what everyone else has to do....

I think I figured out why they're darting around transparency so much. What it may amount to is that the reason Peter believes in invest to play over free to play so much is that he wants to use their precious whallet fillers to indefinitely make the game with a small team. You invest to continue receiving content and development in the most excruciatingly taxing business model since monthly sub fees, yearly sequels, and endless DLC.
All because while they could produce content more rapidly if they were either to focus on a single platform for an extended period or grow the team, Peter's afraid of losing influence and control again from rapid business growth. He's gotta stick to that vision of keepin' the whallet fillin' up so he can eventually get around to making Godus on PC the best ever, despite cutting off his limbs in the process to ensure the transition from mobile to PC remains smooth so he can unite gamers once and for all.
You know, ignoring the fact that the division is wholly in his mind, for the most part.

Does anyone else feel like it's not very indie like to be jet setting around the planet? Shouldn't he be spending time in the office, you know, designing the pc version of GODUS? I think peter acts like he still works for a studio even though he proclaims to want to be indie.

Why did they promise a video when they knew Peter wasn't even going to be around? Or did they tell us he'd be away last week.

I had that thought as well. I wonder if that is part of the problem. He comes up with these ideas while on a plane. Walks into the office and is "OK I just thought of this. I want a giant ark in the game now. Stop fixing this and that and make me an Ark." and he wonders out for another trip and comes back the ark is half finished. "How is the ark? half finished. Good push it out and come back later as I watched Yellow Submarine on the airplane and I want this big purple meenies in now. Start on them. What are they going to do? Ummmm be mean of course! No those other guys aren't mean they are happy people and the player just has not made their people as happy. meenies will kill their followers not leading them away and that is totally diffrent then leading them away. Well I am off to another press event"

Obviously this is very shortened, you'll want to pick the precise questions if you want the proper answer from the video. The questions answered in this video: - Overall Gameplay
- How will you thoroughly remove free to play mechanics [free to play design from existing mechanics] from the PC version? -Qetesh.
Self-management tools, allowing the PC community to alter the game balance and timers through the BFE, allowing (limited?) LUA scripting and a map editor. But these tools need to be made user friendly and they want it to work with Steamworks - however they need to find time for people to work on that.
- What will be different about PC compared to mobile? -Hardly.
Mobile is very much a pick-up-play-put-down style game, the PC is more about entertaining you for multiple hours. Including but not limited to: Tech-tree, combat, moral decisions/rules, reintroduce large scale combat.
- What are you working on right now? -Hardly
Reference to the sprint plan as posted by George last week. New sculpting expansion to allow you to pick the precise layer you want and overall prioritise the targets for the sprint.
- Will we experience a greater sense of "choice"? -Subliminal214.
Commandments are still planned, certain actions (like how you deal with the Astari) may leave 'memories' with your followers, potential tech-tree (Peter is considering redoing the sticker/card mechanic in a different way but no definite plans).
- If you approach Godus as being more like a hobby, as Peter suggested in interviews and such, how do you tackle that people who don't look at the game in this way can see the game as 'broken'? Is that hobby way of looking at the game required to enjoy it as intended? -Aynen.
*sidenote from me, they had a hard time on this question - not realizing the problem with using the game as a hobby, rather than gaming being the hobby and the game being something you do within that hobby* PC will likely be more multiplayer focused, forming clans and communities. Whereas the mobile focus is far more 'pick-up-and-play' short sessions. PC isn't "finished" and will be altered still.
- Why am I constantly punished when I start the game? -Eobet.
Balancing to be implemented. Peter wants to offer the player a challenge without excessively punishing the player.
- Are there any plans to expand on the current sculpting mechanics? Perhaps reintroducing 9+ level sculpting, raise and lower land, smart sculpting (snap to edge), and frequent community suggestions, such as bridge, cave and stair building functionality? -Digital Jam.
There will likely be a menu to enable/select specific sculpting powers. Allowing them to implement powers that may be mutually exclusive. Rather than altering the sculpting mode overall. Example: You can select to only sculpt 6 or 9 layers, or other specific sculpting modes.
- Whilst visiting homeworld several times a day is feasible on mobile platforms, it’s much less practical with a PC game. Are there any plans to allow PC players the option to pause their homeworld, when they’re not playing, so they aren’t persecuted for not turning the game on for several days? -Digital Jam.
Astari balanced to be altered, slower pacing and less maximum followers converted. (Peter mentions 29 hours per festival and an accumulative max of 7% converted over the course of a week.) Matching the PC playstyle, instead of punishing you for not logging in every day by taking a quarter of your followers. Balance files will also allow you to alter these numbers.
- General Features
- What is the single biggest pressing feature/aspect of Godus that you feel needs the most focus and attention right now, and why? -13thGeneral.
Peter wants Jack and him to answer at the same time - followed by a hesitant Jack not wanting to answer, they end up writing it down. Jack - Content, Peter - Multiplayer Followed by Peter saying Jack is using a copout answer that is really generic. Peter sees multiplayer as the key feature that will tie it all together and that will make sense of the other features.
- What features are you currently working on – not counting bug fixes and/or “balancing numbers” - and why have you chosen them? In other words, how do you see them fitting in the game, and what made you choose them? -13thGeneral.
Basicly answered in previous questions.
- What features/aspects are you about to work on (e.g. in the immediate production schedule)? -13thGeneral.
Peter asks the viewer whether they should do multiplayer / hubworld next, or focus on fixing all the problems and issues and doing a bit of a maintenance sprint. Peter wants to be at about 70% of Godus by Christmas, but he doesn't want the game to fall apart because of all the bugs and issues.
[/ol][/ul](Did a quick edit to put in the times each question was asked, I hope youtube links work, they don't always retain the time the video was linked towards when adverts are involved...) I recommend you watch atleast the end of the video (29 minute marker), it shows a rather interesting sculpting mechanic quickly doing large swathes of land at once. Looks really smooth. (The burning Astari look satisfying aswell though.)

I'll give a basic summary having just listened to it. Jack appears to have an inability to read the questions, and I personally think few of the actual questions asked were answered, even by PM who spent a chunk of time tell Jack he should have been a politician because HE (Jack) was being vague/avoiding answering.
J) 1) Overall game play J) i) How will we thoroughly remove free to play mechanisms from the pc version.
PM) Interesting point there are wait timers in many games. My plan is to give the community the power to remove those timers completely. We are part way through implementing changing everything in the game. There are 3 sides to this to give the community the power to do. i) Change the balance files to just throw away all the wait timers, speed the game up slow the game down and pretty much change the balance as much as you want. ii) secondly is the ability to do some scripting in LUA, because a lot of the functionality of the game can be controlled through very simple lua coding - if you don't know lua its a reasonably simple language (http://www.lua.org/), you can screw the whole thing up but you could conceivably change the game from a god game to a shoot them up, and thirdly iii) and perhaps most challenging of all because our map generation tools are a bit primitive - is the ability to change the maps. Now all of that takes time to do, we now have it in a version we can change balance/maps, but if we were just to throw it out to you people, you would find that it is very primitive. I really want this to be through steamworks so that you can publish all of the changes that you make - that is an extra little overhead to it. So we are trying to find time in people's schedules to actually do that at the moment. There we go, answered question.
J) Number two
PM) Number two
J) Right
PM) How many have we got?
J) We've got quite a few, I think we will break this down into 3 episodes
PM) My ambition is to answer every question in just a little bit longer than the previous one.
J) That was roughly 4 minute, no that cannot be right, 2 and a half 3 minutes that one so this one has to be 3 minutes.
