Also thanks to Gmr Leon for his recent Amplitude thread for reminding me of a series of polls they ran around the time of Endless Space release.
Ok, so this is a challenge I want to issue 22Cans for approaching the eventual PC sprint.
Phase 1 - What Area?
In the lead up to the sprint decide on a half dozen possible broad areas that could be your focus for the sprint. By broad I mean:
* More hubworld world content?
* Major dedicated balance and redesigning just for PC?
* More player tools?
* More side-mini game content?
Identify what are realistic areas for you to undertake for the sprint, then present that list to the community and over the space of a week let us vote on what area we would most like to see you make the sprint about.
So you decide what's realistic for you and make a list of those things, we then make the decision.
Phase 2 - What Aspects?
With the community now having voted for the overall focus, break down that focus into what aspects you feel could be achieved within that area that could take priority during the sprint.
If it's hubworld content.
* Expanding the Astari?
* More follower dynamics?
* More things to discover?
If it's dedicated balance and redesigning for PC.
* Card/sticker balance/design changes?
* Timer balancing?
* Belief generation/cost balancing?
And so forth, generally this list would be more comprehensive than the first one as it's breaking down a broad area into specific elements.
Try to make sure each thing wouldn't consume the entire sprint, but rather could take a more focused priority over the other options.
Then again like before, post that list to the community and let us vote on which areas we'd like to see focused on over others within that area we'd previously voted for.
So you decide what's realistic for you and make a list of those things, we then make the decision, eventually giving you a tiered list of priorities from most immediate downwards.
Phase 3 - Here's Our Plan.
Come up with a general impression for the sprint details. Write up in more detail how you plan to tackle the voted in broad topic and the voted in immediate priority areas.
Then post that write up, and ask a rather simple question:
Are you happy with this? What would you change?
And then ask for not just votes on yes/no, but also now ask for now quantitive feedback through posting alterations to approaching the voted in areas.
Phase 4 - Now To Put It Into Action.
Put the plan into action, and stick to it as best as possible. Any deviation is communicated immediately to CMs for relaying to the community WITHOUT FAIL.
