Raspofabs, I don't know how much you can say on this, but is Peter trying to fumble about tackling hard AI problems along with dynamic terrain changes like a madman again? Because I think this is awesome, buuuut I think he needs more than 20-30 people working on something like it to achieve anything close to what he'd like to see. That is, without smoke and mirrors anyway.

I haven't been following along much in the big discussion threads (lots of skimming), but I feel like I missed something; Is this referring to a specific feature - like the ARK - or just a general question?

It seems this relates specifically to the ARK-project.
As its main purpose seems to be (from initial observation) to serve as a "jump" to higher tech (as previously posed as potential solution by Fabs) aswell as a cutoff point for population (and therefor pathfinding/AI issues or limitations) aswell as to provide the player with a "fresh map" and thereby accounting for the rapidly diminishing amount of sculptable terrain.

Yup, along those lines. From previous discussions, Fabs noted it (individual follower AI as opposed to groups) was just the design focus for the time being, so I'm interested in if that design focus has inadvertently extended throughout the game or if there are plans to try more smoke and mirrors for the appearance of complex AI.

I like: coding, high peat single malts, ... , yeah, that's about it.
I don't like: object oriented design, and liver.

I don't know yet. I've been called back to the code dungeons because of iOS 8 issues. No game codimg for me right now. I'll comment when I can.

I thought maybe you'd have some fun info from when you were doing more main game coding, but either way, glad you responded. Thanks!
