Any news about an update? Last thing i heard was that one was planned before the GDC. This was just fed, earlier today, to an online gaming site; Godus PC Beta 2.0 trailer will drop next weekIn my opinion, it's just more vague, unpromising PR breadcrumbs, while maintaining official silence and purposefully avoiding the actual backers/players. They really like slapping us in the face; I'm starting to feel like a bully took my lunch money.

I have to agree that this seems like a convenient "leak" and as it apparently comes from a reliable source it does beg the question why this news hasn't been released to backers yet.

Here's another that claims Peter Molyneux confirmed it with them directly this morning; Polygon.com"This update will include "hundreds" of tweaks, including new features and refinements to existing ones... pegging the fix day as "probably next Tuesday."
I'll believe it when I see it, or they tell us directly - which hasn't happened yet despite having all day to do so.

I assume that they feel if they say anything on the backer forums they will get flooded with questions that they do not want to answer. So better leave the dead where they lay and not make any noise to wake the horde.

Yeah, but the more crap I have to take at my dayjob from people that keep me in business, the more this stuff pisses me off. If you cannot handle the heat don't open the oven door. Call me in a bitchy mood but I call bullshit on this today.

Just because The magic eight-ball has been having such a run. I went to www.indra.com/cgi-bin/spikes-8-ball and asked if Godus will have an update this month and got back "My sources say no." Well lets see if it will be 2 for 2. LOL.

I assume that they feel if they say anything on the backer forums they will get flooded with questions that they do not want to answer. So better leave the dead where they lay and not make any noise to wake the horde. That's called "conflict aversion" and all it does is create a downward spiraling mess into the abyss. The paradox of conflict aversion is that it doesn’t actually avoid conflict. It hides it, distorts it, and allows it to fester. By leaving us to speculate and flap in the wind with our discontent, and avoiding direct confrontation, they only foster resentment and disparity. They are risking destroying – nay, have already poisoned - the very thing they're supposed to be defending with all their passion, because they cannot be bothered to face adversity head on. And that makes me very sad for those involved whom have no direct control; tethered to the sinking ship because of the Captain's warped sense of pride - and it's a ship called Ego. The only real positive way around conflict is through it. By addressing the actual issue, by being reasonable and honest about it, they at least have a chance of preventing the snowballing-bullshit dynamic that happens when angry people talk to each other. If they could contain the conflict to the problems, and provide rational and level-headed responses and offer resolutions, things would be far more controlled instead of this speculative angry mob. This tactic of secretive head-burrowing and media "leaks" just inadvertently triggers another litany of further resentment. If they would merely put genuine effort into simply dealing with it directly, then they have an actual shot at creating a constructive outcome - and being successful in their endeavors. Instead, they chose to play head games.

Thanks. It took a lot of energy to write that. Sometimes I get lost in the words, and emotion, and lose sight of my point; struggling to stay on topic.
To me, it continues to become glaringly obvious what they're trying to do.

Well I am hoping that the rumours lead to OSX (and PC) versions and not just some mobile stuff. The sensible money I guess is on fast mobile cash to support desktop development though. I still find it difficult that anyone would be prouder to have a mobile rather than desktop game still, but accept I'm old.

I still find it difficult that anyone would be prouder to have a mobile rather than desktop game still, but accept I'm old. I don't think it has anything to do with age, it is just about taste. I love my touch smartphone but I hate the touch screens tablets and desktops. I simply just don't like certain games to be mobile and the reason so many are pissed is they don't either and never would have pledged what they did if they had known this is what it was going to be. I don't mind playing Bejelwed mobile while I am bored but If I am in a mood to sit down, pour a new beverage put on some tunes and just game, I would want a good old fashioned PC. I also don't mind spending a reasonable amount of money on a game if I want to play it enough. I am still tempted to buy Sim City 5 and then is still 55 dollars for the basic and 83 dollars for the deluxe, I would however have no desire to play it all as a mobile F2P game. I am not going to run out and buy a tablet so if Godus never comes out as anything but mobile...well shame on me, lesson learned........it will not happen again, ever.

Age as in set in your ways. I have a smartphone and ipad so do have a problem with the technology, just that mobile media is , I think, exactly that. It is for whilst you are mobile and a desktop for when you want to do something.
Anyway I guess in two days we'll know more. Maybe there will be a huge surprise for us all and we'll all be saying what a brilliant bunch of guys 22Cans are and that is was a better idea not to have known anything.
....I need to put the optimism pills away, don't I?

Nah, no problem with that. My mood and mentality changes like the weather anymore. I hope we know something in concrete one way or another soon.

The so called 2.0 update should be coming out any moment now! Unless like last time they have a last minute setback and postpone it for a day or two.
