*sigh* Even when work is over, my home phone line is completely dead at the minute. Might have to set up my phone as a hotspot and pull this down over data. D:

Tutorial requires clicking the middle button...I have a rollerball with no middle button. Luckily I have a normal mouse, too!

Apparently another update is on its way and is scheduled to be uploaded about an hour and ten minutes from now. Just in time for me to be going off to school. It got leaked by Peter on Twitter before his community people could make the announcement. Real smooth.

Has anyone tried the brandnew 2.0.2 update? I don't think I'm gonna try it until I somebody tells me what those >600 changes are and how they influence the gameplay. Right now I'm having too much fun playing Civ 4 to be bothered to try it for myself.

Well it appears to be the same build for me - and still does not work. Maybe tomorrow?

Well, I'd say I'm an hour or two into the new update, having restarted the game.
... It looks a bit nicer and isn't crashing I guess? Right off the bat I think they've made the giants in the voyages far more predictable in their movement which is nice, and you can rotate the screen with shift + A/D. Otherwise I'm really not sure what the 600+ changes are.
Wooden cabins still take 20 minutes to build, although they have a belief capacity of 200 or so now and I can't remember how that compares to what it was before.
Progression is still broken IMO. I'm almost at the point of being able to unlock farming settlements, but I've not been able to place A SINGLE building settlement because of slow belief generation. I actually wish I'd never spent the stickers on them now, as I'll never use them. And it still costs far too many stickers to unlock things. They've also made it harder to see how much of a card a sticker will unlock, although I think that's more of a bug seeing as the progress bar is still there. it just doesn't display until you've put the sticker down sometimes.
I guess my main issue with progression is, are we supposed to unlock everything in order or not? If not, why is everything in a linear timeline? Why not have a branching tree displaying possible research paths (like in Civ games)? Well that and, you know, not actually using resources in the land or having my people generate them.
EDIT: Oh, and leashing houses only seems to work with tier 2 plots and above. I don't remember that being the case before but I didn't find it very clear and wasted belief trying to get it to work. :/

Read the tweet from 22Cans in the twitter thread. Thanks, I found that just after posting and didn't update. The 'game' now loads again on my iMac. It feels pleasing to sculpt and I find it fairly addictive just changing areas of colonisation but still don't really feel that this is an absorbing game.
