I think one of the issues GODUS will have design wise is to sufficiently differentiate the ages. What is different about imperial age/medieval age/ Renaissance age/ Industrial Age/ modern age/space age etc. I don't know if those are the names 22cans is using but you get the idea. You can't have farming settlements in the space age!

I tend to agree. Once it gets patched, I'll be interested in revisiting Homeworld to build abodes after having unlocked Frontier Age Residences. I think that, while not the best, is at least partially contributing to shifting the appearance of a civilization progressing. Other elements like wagons/primitive transport systems will also aid in this, if these cards are at all indicative of those making an appearance.
Ever since they removed the distinct ages from timeline and simplified abode appearances, it's made all tech progress seem too much like a blur, I think.

Your Farms will stay farms but have different assets, so they look like a biodome or sth like that. They will then Produce Foodus Packets you need to Build new Roomuses

Yes, and to implemant a Tech tree kind system to organise those cards, to make a non linear game, with civ specification through those card choices...

If this is just a tease and doesn't happen, ima be so mad On the other hand, if it becomes a tech tree, ima be much happier On the third hand (!?), if it's just split into 3 branches (pop, food, ore), ima just be disappointed

Peter never picked up on that, so now timeline branches into different worlds you have to tediously settle and beat back the natives of because you're a jerk and then everything's wonderful because hey, it's a tech tree now! Sort of.

I just hope its not more of the "technical" fullfillments that 22cans is building a reputation of. This whole "lets reimagine the definition of everything we know within game design" is getting tedious.

Yes, a tech tree it's been said several times on this forum. So, we'll have some answers through the famous Q&A videos up to come... I just hope its not more of the "technical" fullfillments that 22cans is building a reputation of. This whole "lets reimagine the definition of everything we know within game design" is getting tedious. Standing by, here's a Q&A video made some time ago(August 2014) for some convention in Spain with a few youtube views atm... if it can refresh what 22cans is and does, etc...

Best quote: "The way I define a god game is to give a player a world and allow them to be whoever they want to be in that world." So to redefine it, they disallow them being whoever they want to be in that world. Brilliant!
