I'll remain skeptical. It seems like Mathew is putting in some effort from the start, but that does not mean he won't his the brick wall of Peter(s). There is no way Peter doesn't know that we hate the clicking and FB elements of Godus. And since they're not really removing those elements means they are integral part of Peter's concept for Godus. Improved communication is great but it doesn't fix the gameplay issues.

Yeah even if they "fix" a lot of stuff I'm afraid Godus still won't turn out to be anything like I'd hoped it would. But the update shall tell.

I'm not sure I care too much anymore about the game - obviously I'd prefer something worthwhile, but I seem to have partitioned it off in my mind as written off. I really think I was far more pissed off that they ignored us for so long.
I think Matt is well intentioned but agree with the sentiment that getting some vapour news is not the same as downloading an update.

Matt is definitely putting in a lot of effort but maybe I'm being critical, but he is not actually making many commitments to us. Yes he's going to try to do this and that but again it doesn't seem to me like Peter has given him the mandate to do the job he has been tasked to do. My first thought are this is just another guy Peter is going to use as a human shield to buy himself time to get the FTP game out their and see how it fly's.
The problem I have is if Matt is successful then that basically means Sam was the issue and I just don't believe that given the limited information I have..

It's all very well for the statement to be 'fix the community issues', the issue is not the community!
Also not clear how we numerically leap from 1.3.1, which was surely really 0.1. whatever to 2.0

Well version numbering, at least in my eyes, is very subjective. I watched a little of the live stream last night. Man Peter is not a public speaker that inspires confidence in me. For someone so into tech he does not get somethings. LOL I was cringing when he said, all the people are red, I assume in chat, are the angry? Maybe it was a joke, maybe not. But I did kind of feel he was saying the same things in the video he had in some of the first. Only this time he was saying how good not clicking was vs last time how good clicking was. But I can not wait to get home tonight to check out the new release and will be looking for peoples review that might be able to access the game before me.

If the update is as big as the message indicates, it would make sense to jump up to 2.0

Wow, I think this time the silence has really been broken: even PM tweets about what the new analitics show, updates, and about testing the connected worlds stuff.

Wow, I think this time the silence has really been broken: even PM tweets about what the new analitics show, updates, and about testing the connected worlds stuff. Let's not forget, PM is a good business man and understands that this is a major release for him and he needs to drive up a media frenzy to try to ramp up additional steam sales. Now is not the time for them to be quite, that will be in a few weeks when the reviews are old and the steam sales flat lined again.

Haven't we seen this a few months ago? It's their release mode. Remember the Early Access release. Two month no sign of life. Short before release ... beta and many interviews ... release ... a few weeks later (after selling enough on steam) ... silence ... now? ... release on mobile ... update ... communication ... next are interviews and visits to gamers exhibitions ... then release!
And what are people doing, telling everybody how great the game is now, making YouTube videos showing almost the same game as six month ago with slightly different controls.

I'm not sure that is a mark of improvement or just how bad the initial offering was. At least with the initial beta we went on a voyage of discovery and with flaws aside, it didn't feel to me like a potential mobile FTP. But this one very much does. I find I'm waiting so long to do anything that I get bored and use the belief I was 'saving' for something else. I think using a finger on the screen to leash, remove stones will work just fine. Maybe the setting just need to be tweaked and the other 51% will make all the difference.
