My Christmas Eve gift to myself was successfully getting my Java Certification. It's the first piece of paper that proves I do know what I'm talking about (and the last big step to my Bachelor's). Being self-taught is actually a hindrance to passing the exam. Most IDE's automatically handle the things they test for and, as a consequence, it gets glossed over in the real world... Congrats! It's been years since I've typed 'import'. IDEs are da bomb!

It's been years since I've typed 'import'. IDEs are da bomb! No kidding. IDEs have taken a lot of the things I dislike most about programming. I'm now brushing up on my Perl for the next exam. It's been nearly a decade since I last fiddled around with it. Oh well, it's that and then my capstone and I'll finally have some high end paper to line bird cages with.

Well, taking out the most problematic parts is a job of every tool.
