ETA: Next April/May.
Basis:
May-August (4 months-ish dev time for iOS).
May-June delays from settlement revision. July, Happiness system creation and Astari creation. Considered releasable early August (August 8).
September-October (2 months-ish bug fixes/support resolution).
Mid to late August, Weyworld work began, took all of September and considered releasable early October (October 14).
October 10-17, Android work and continued iOS support.
(Probably mid to late September some transitions in focus were beginning to work on Android release).
Probably rest of October will be continued work towards Android release, possibly by either the end of the month (coinciding with BFE release) or first week of November.
Heavy speculation:
From early November to mid-December, there will probably be bug fixes and support resolutions worked on, then from January to early February, continuation of this. From mid to late January may be some beginning work on the maintenance sprint, the duration of which remains unclear. This may begin to go into full force with some of George's aforementioned minor PC adjustments made (e.g. hotkeys for powers, etc.) from I'd say, late-January/mid-February until maybe about March.
Why not another month in-between like with Weyworld? Well since the maintenance sprint won't entail much new content, I'd imagine it may go a little faster, and besides that, we did have the tiny incremental update not too long after the August update, as I recall.
I'd say with about threeish months dedicated to more mobile support (i.e. Android), we could predict the soonest the maintenance sprint may begin work would be early next year and last another threeish months. From that point, assuming no huge delays, incidents, or sudden inexplicable redirections, we might see the PC sprint begin, at the soonest, mid to late March, with the results surfacing around early to mid April (more likely, mid to late April). Assuming delays, the maintenance sprint may extend into April, then we would shift PC sprint start at mid to late April, with first results emerging early to mid May (optimistically, more likely, mid to late May).
Abbreviated timeline:
Early November-mid-December: Android bug fixes and support.
Mid to late January: Continued Android bug fixes and support.
(Simultaneously) Mid-late January: beginning work on maintenance sprint.
Late January/mid-February-March: results of maintenance sprint begin emerging and maintenance sprint is fully underway.
Mid to late March (optimistically): beginning work on PC sprint while simultaneously continuing maintenance sprint (finishing touches).
Mid to late March (realistically): maintenance sprint continues.
Early to mid April (optimistically): PC sprint results start emerging.
Early to mid April (realistically): beginning work on PC sprint while simultaneously continuing maintenance sprint.
Mid to late April (optimistically): see above, PC sprint results start emerging.
Mid to late April (realistically): see above, PC sprint begins/maintenance work continues.
Early to Mid May (optimistically): see PC sprint results emerging.
Mid to late May (realistically): see PC sprint results emerging.
Abbreviated timeline results:
Earliest PC sprint may begin would probably be mid to late March.
Latest it may begin would be mid to late April.
Results would probably only emerge around May, if not early to mid June.
Hard to predict how long they might go with either the Maintenance or PC sprint, but either way, PC sprint is almost certainly a next year affair at this point, assuming they don't neglect Android support.
What do you guys think? Think there's even the faintest chance of a mid to late October shift into a maintenance sprint beginning for all platforms, lasting until early to mid February, then we begin hearing about PC sprint starting mid to late February and results come in around mid to late March or early April? Because I can't say that I do all that much.
I'm leaning heavily towards any PC sprint results emerging late May to early/mid June, personally.
