I put it in off Topic, because i think it's not exactly Godus releated.
It's a hypothetical question i am thinking about for some time now. What if a group of 22cans devs would leave 22cans and start their own indie game dev. They would go to Kickstarter and start a campaign for a god game for pc - something like someone promised us a few years ago. Would you back it?
I know there are many assumptions involved which can change the decision (who is in the team, how many people ...). I think about a small team, maybe 4-5 people. Not Molyneux. The question is would you belive in a group of people working for 22cans?
I have thought about that some time and i think i would trust them if they come up with a good concept, something like a design document or a realistic Roadmap. By comparison, I would not support a game of Peter Molyneux or 22cans as a company any more. I think there are many talented people at 22cans doing a good job but at some point the company fails to bring it all together in a good product.
EDIT: tried to delete the poll and change it. But doesn't work.
Would have been better
Back with <50$ Back with >49$ <100$ Back with >99$ Don't back it Not sure
Ok, now it's there. Maybe cache.

Not sure. I haven't ruled out Kickstarter, I've backed things after Godus, but it has affected how much I'm willing to pledge... However, I think with a solid plan in place and depending on who is in the team I'd be willing to back, for sure.

If anyone mentions they ever worked for 22cans, and does a Kickstarter...not a snowball's chance in you know where.

I would likely require a solid business plan for me to be willing to back anything. And to be honest I would probably have more faith in 5 random unknown people than 5 people from 22cans to pull off the project with success. After all, 20+ people in the team have over a time span of 2 years failed to influence the project and/or project leader in a way that led to the product resembling the one that was pitched even in the slightest.

First i thought like that, too. But sometimes it's not that easy to influence your boss, especially if it's a world wide known game development luminary. Sometimes you do a job because you have to do it, not because you like it. Maybe they have tried to influnce the project but had no chance. I don't want to believe that's their biggest dream to do a game like godus is right now. So i think, if they would say we had enough of that, we left 22cans because it's not the game we want to do. We have our own ideas, our own concept, a god game with nice stepped landscapes i think i would say ok. Let's give it a try. But you are right, 5 random people would have an easier job to convience me.

My thing would be if they used working at 22cans as a means to fund a Kickstarter then it would be total no go for me. I don't think that anyone at 22cans should be proud of how the kickstarter was handled and so it would be quite rude to use that company on KS in anyway at any point forward. If they don't mention 22cans and offer a good honest game with total integrity that would change to a "I don't know" for me.

Yeah... nope. Fool me once, etc.
I know out of some semblance of civility we try to curve the blame for most of the 22cans/godus woes Peters way, but at the end of the day, I have a hard time believing that everyone at 22cans is so effortlessly kept in the dark and docile about Peters shenanigans.
When time and time again we hear, "Whoopsiedoodle!!! Sorry!!! We had no idea Peter was going to do the thing you guessed he might do!!!" it makes you wonder...
I appreciate their efforts, but I think I'll pass on my support to organizations that are a tad more honest with their intentions, and their customers.
Birds of a feather...

Others have tried to make good god games and succeeded, so my opinion would be I would not back anything till I saw a working prototype and solid gameplay mechanics I enjoyed at that stage. I wish developers would bring back demos.
