Yes he is. But I don't think there was any type of official announcement.

Do Ninja's need announcements? I did do an announcement a long time ago, maybe in back in April/May time when I first joined the Community team. Once I've gotten settled into this new role and caught up on a couple of task (Reports, Social Media, Meetings etc). I'll be more than happy to post a new announcement to clarify that I've taken over George's role as CM.
