A couple of odd things about the Astari: Right now I have a total of 234 Astari left in Weyworld. 781 Astari are listed as "converted." Yet I only have about 200 Astari housed and assimilated. Yesterday four converted but only one was visible which I roped and housed. I've actually watched this fairly closely and I'm quite sure that for every four listed as "converted" only about one actually shows up crossing into my domain. The other odd thing is that as the Astari culture gets closer and closer to final and total extinction their happiness meter slowly continues to rise. They're happy that their culture is being destroyed and their cities emptied? By the time there are only 40 or 50 of them left in their indigenous culture they may be so overjoyed that I may have to destroy them to keep their happiness meter from exploding over the top and to keep my Followers from converting to embrace their doom.
Perhaps someone from 22Cans would care to explain these odd facts. It's not that it matters a great deal, I'm just wondering why it would be programmed like that.
This may be the ideal place to make a request of the guys at 22Cans. Could you consider giving the Astari some useful function or use? I'm sure there are many others who have collected them simply because it can be done or because they might become a resource. I destroyed a bunch of them in Homeworld in order to get to the ark. So I've done that already. Perhaps you could integrate them into combat scenarios in some unique way? Or maybe they could retrieve a new resource? Sure they're funny, annoying and lazy but how about some more depth with the Astari? Clearly you spent a bunch of time writing code for them and their cities, etc.. Why not develop it more? Why not make the people who destroyed them all out of hand regret it a bit? And I've mentioned this before but when you get a chance could you fix the thing where Followers are looking out the windows of Astari abodes? Somehow it wrecks the ambience and illusion of my IOS game. Let us know what you think.
