Hey! 22Cans guys! Throw us a bone will you!!??
Sure, I know, I haven't been here long. And I sure haven't been here from the beginning like some of these people. But from what I've seen these people deserve more substantive feedback than they have been getting. Not only are there a lot of smart people on this forum but there are more hard core Godus aficionados here than Godus frankly deserves being that it's been a half finished game, like forever. Isn't it about time you gave these folks some kind of exclusive overview or synopsis of your future gameplay plan ( with the classified and secret stuff redacted of course)? It should go without saying that it's difficult ( to say the least ) to offer worthwhile input when so much is completely unknown. Numerous times, in my admittedly short time here, I've read fascinating ideas offered by members with no comment whatsoever from FuriousMoo or any other developer. Simply stating that the idea would not fit in the scheme or plan ( whatever it may be ) would be helpful for the obvious reason that others would not waste time expanding upon it. You might even be surprised to find that giving the community here some more substance to go on would result in enhanced input!
My apologies if there is a hidden thread or something lost in the archives that explains in some substantive way what you guys are doing and I haven't been here long enough to discover it. Geez, in my opinion you have a great resource here. Throw us a bone.
I can't speak to the culture of 22Cans or even to the culture of this forum as I don't have enough information, but in general I can observe that time and time again I've seen people who, thinking they are the smartest guys in the room, fail at what they're doing because they didn't use the people and resources around them efficiently.
Maybe you literally have no idea what you are going to do with the game. If that's the reason for the scant feedback at least let us know. Thanks.

They can't because there isn't one. Godus has been pretty much designed on the fly from ideas PM came up with each "sprint". It was pretty clear when they posted the road map last May and it's all but confirmed with what Moo's been saying about picking up the reigns of this project. Everything was pretty much "in Peter's head" and it turns out that it either never was in there or it's staying there.

While I share your opinion darkmoondragon, you shouldn't expect anything like that happening. We've been collectively clamoring for that for years now. I was actually quite surprised to find FuriousMoo on our board suddenly. He did so on his own accord and I really appreciate that. He has no obligation to us. After all this is not an official board and he is not responsible for community engagement. The same goes for Raspofabs who has also been a great contributor to this board. Though FuriousMoo is now I guess sort of unofficially running project godus, I don't think it is fair to address him on the issue of communication. He has been asking us for design input which is more than we ever had before. Besides that he has also been responding on other threads to posts that should probably fall under the responsibility of the community managers, if anyone.

Lord Ba'al-
I appreciate what you are saying. What I'm trying to say is that the forum here is a resource which FuriousMoo and 22Cans can use for nothing. I understand completely what you are telling me and don't mean to be "ungrateful" or whatever. It's just that my business and life experience has taught me to use my resources in the most profitable way possible. Since FuriousMoo and 22Cans are, in fact, interacting with this forum why not do so in the most profitable way possible? I have one constructive suggestion below.
earlparvisjam-
Thanks. Then there's even more reason for FuriousMoo and the other developers to interact efficiently with the people here isn't there? Writing code is one thing but it has to be based on viable, playable, successful ideas and game structure or it's nothing. Writing a brilliant bit of code of a rat licking its crotch gets you nowhere ( although that's probably on the Apple App Store somewhere right now). No, come to think of it that was a goat, not a rat. Anyway, what 22Cans has at the moment is an admittedly beautiful (possible ) framework or beginning of a game and not actually a real game. What they do next is probably critical. My hunch is that it will be make or break time for the project. That's how it feels. And here they have a collection of minds who ( for some unknown reason ) are dedicated to the successful development of this game. Among them are some quite smart people with interesting ideas. But I have yet to see the kind of interaction necessary for the development of ideas. Why not, for example, create a thread where the developers can move the most viable ideas? Call it, what the heck, "Ideas Under Consideration" or "The Best Ideas Thus Far." Dedicate this new thread to further exploring these specific ideas not posting new ones. Better than a hodgepodge of ideas with no comments by the developers? I think so.

BTW, I see I'm now at the "Wannabe" level. "Wannabe" sounds whinny to me. Could you change the level name to Demigod or Barn Owl or something? Anything actually. Fishmonger?

Does anyone else experience a hugh battery drain with this game? I had my tablet charged at 100% and only got 10 minutes of playing time...

I never really took the time to look at all the ranking level names, though I originally thought they were based on the Godus Kickstarter backer pledge levels, but I see they are not. Is there a certain pattern to the ranking level terms, or is it just random terms you chose?

shellsastari-
I've noticed more of a battery drain on my iPad battery than other apps, and wondered why, but nothing like what you're talking about. That's very strange. Bad battery?
13thgeneral-
I assumed the silly rank names were invented by whoever created the forum. I wouldn't look for a pattern there if you truly value your sanity. That having been said I intend getting through "Wannabe" as quickly as possible without being superfluous.
Lord Ba'al knows the answer, no doubt.

I'd love Moo to share the plan but I understand there is no plan to share but the one he creates. He's being cautious because he doesn't want to create hype he can't meet. Unfortunately we'll have to ride the ride and critique after the fact. See the dev threads where he has asked for feedback on specific areas.
In terms of ranks I have about 270 posts to my next level.

Is there a certain pattern to the ranking level terms, or is it just random terms you chose? No, it's pure madness I tell you. Though I did have a discussion going regarding these rank names and stuff, but no one really seemed to care so after long deliberation with myself I came up with what we have now. By the way, if you simply type an @ in front of someone's username the board will tag them and those people will be notified that you've tagged them. Please note that the username can be different from the actual forum handle you see. (you can find the usernames on the Members page) For example, my username is admin. In terms of ranks I have about 270 posts to my next level. And how do you know that?

Make two consecutive titles the same but with a small difference like a capital letter or a space and see how many people notice

Master seems to last a long time posts wise and surely you Lord Ba'al Lord Ba'al should now just be "THE GOD". You know levelling in this forum is more additive than the game Godus should do powers by God level, the larger your follower base the more powers you have and you can only enter the next age at the next god level. Also use it to control multiplayer entry (I guess this has all been suggested before too .

Actually "THE GOD" would be rather presumptuous and pompous and Lord Ba'al strikes me as a humble and beneficent despot. Furthermore it would be inaccurate as we are all gods of varying degrees; sort of like Olympus or Valhalla etc.. He's more like Zeus or Odin with a parcel of smaller gods to watch over. Don't envy the job. Oops, I forgot we're not supposed to mention actually religions. Does that include mostly completely dead ones? Besides Lord of Gods is spot on.

Oh and wasn't it the goal of all the system lords (stargate) to rule all the others?
