Thanks Lord Ba'al I will either try that or detach myself from my tablet and fire up one of my computers. I will still gratefully accept the "Master" level as it seems I have finally mastered the heathen Astari on The Isle Of Retribution!! ( fingers crossed ).

Update, 02/18/2015: The monologue continues...
Apparently after the horror of yesterday the Astari went back into their city, now renamed Retribution City, and completely forgot everything. Since their happiness meter is now climbing rapidly back up, what other conclusion can I reach? I've watched the silent city and no one ever seems to look out a window, but the reek from the swamp must be beyond imagining! The dank, putrid mists rising up from the swamp must be pouring into the city through the glass less windows. Yet in their mindless slumber the inhabitants must be yet imagining their land as it was before the righteous, pestilential swamp was unleashed. Yet the mercy of their true god knows no limits. My arms are yet open unto them. Yea, the last who doth come unto me shall be as cherished as the very first. All who bow down before me are as my children!
Lo, I see a time when heathens from unknown shores shall transgress upon our lands! All who bow down to their true god in those times of tribulation shall have succor! All who take up the sword of righteousness shall be blessed among tiny people! Come forth ye wicked Astari! Come forth and be clad in the armor of your true god!! Get out of that damn city!!!
Update, 02/18/2015: The Festival
Weird. Since I didn't watch the actual festival ( missed it by two minutes ), the Astari apparently cheated and didn't actually come out at all. I know this because yesterday it took them over two hours to slop and muck their way back into the city after the festival and today there was only one Astari swimming to my shore! Are the deceptions of 22Cans without limits?!!
The population of Retribution City dropped by two to 136. One swam to freedom and one was sent to wander in the wastelands of eternal purgatory. It is beyond all sense and reason that a god should have to work a day job, else I would have watched the festival and another day of retribution would have been satisfied!!
Ye have but one day to repent!
Cheers!

Update, 02/19/2015: Incidental- I feel obliged to report that I had an entire evening and night pass without a thunderstorm. Fluke? Brief mercy from the dark forces at 22Cans? Recorded as unknown anomaly. Also of some scientific note: I'm seeing brief, beautiful flashes of swamp gas on the surface of Retribution Island, henceforth to be known as Swamp Island or The Swamp Of Misery. You too can experiment with this effect for about one million belief. Just cover a large area with about ten or fifteen layers of swamp. Then sit back and enjoy! In addition, it's odd that my vast swamp is riddled with quicksand but no where is it more than chest deep on the Astari. Perhaps it would have been more clever FuriousMoo and Raspofabs to make five or ten percent of it more deep and therefore lethal? If you did this then in combat if you used swamp to slow down the enemy one of them would occasionally sink all the way down and die. Hence more game depth! Heh, heh. Details. Details! Update, 02/19/2015: The Festival- A gratifying scene of abject misery and torment! The population of Swamp Island dropped from 136 to 129 today. So far none have shown up in my lands though the "game" credits me with seven new converts. But I did notice five bubble faces of misery rising up from the ocean to the south of Swamp Island which leads me to speculate that these are the Astari who passed through the veil into a bleak and hellish purgatory where they will wander forever. Such is the fate of those who believe not in the one true and merciful god. Swamp Island is stunningly beautiful in the night when the swamp gases bubble and glow brilliantly in the darkness. Would that I could stand on that island watching the glow of the swamp against the evening stars whilst harkening to the cries of the wicked in torment! Well, more than an hour has passed since the "festival" and about a dozen Astari are still wandering, lost in the swamp. If any are saved I will leave a brief note. Hopefully this will all be over soon. Do gods grow weary? Cheers! Extra Update, 02/19/2015: Amazing. Almost two and a half hours later one female Astari is still lost in the swamp. Maybe she will become a permanent fixture there. Perhaps I've done her a favor since she cannot teleport or morph into another Astari. This may be the longest an Astari has lived as a unique individual!! And speaking of teleportation, one Astari did come over to my realm apparently flying or teleporting in an instant to the far north of my domain. I gave him a small plot of land to build his hut. He seems as happy as a bee in a buttercup.

Grievous Update, 02/19/2015-
After over three hours lost in the swamp the little female Astari perished, sob. And the population on Swamp Island plummeted from 129 to 125. At first this puzzled me a great deal and then the horrific truth, the unspeakable horror, hit me. She was pregnant with triplets! No man or god should bear such a heavy burden! At least I can say that she died with a smile on her, er... mask.
Oh well. Whatever.

A scenic view of a small section of The Swamp Of Misery festooned with festive flags. The outskirts of Retribution City can be seen at top: Overnight the Astari happiness meter went way up. They must be either streaming some great videos or high. And yes Lord Ba'al the women folk have square boobs or perhaps square bras? But that's the least of their problems IMO.

Here is hopefully a somewhat sharper image of the Swamp: Love the way the flags flutter against the pestilence and decay!

Update, 02/20/2015: Well the "festival" is over and the population on Swamp Island has dropped to 113. One Astari teleported to the far north again today. And a half hour after the festival ended two male Astari were still wandering lost in the swamp. Thank the gods they're not females. I don't want another pregnant Astari on my conscience! Why would you bother to placate me Lord Ba'al ? Never thought that. Fact is I've managed to create a story and play "god" despite 22Cans. Kind of surprised me that it could be done. Astari wandering through a nicer section of swamp.

Miraculous Update, 02/20/2015: This may sound odd coming from a god but I think I just saw my first miracle! Let me explain. Two hours after the festival ended on Swamp Island one male Astari was still lost in the swamp. The population of the island stood at 113 souls at that time. Three hours after the festival I was actually watching this Astari when he keeled over and died. I watched the death head float up. Vanished, done, kaput. Well a moment after he died I heard an unhappiness sound! So I quickly looked far to the north and another homeless Astari had appeared. One Nick Boswell. Then I looked at the population of Swamp Island again. The population was now 112!!! That could only mean one thing. The last Astari, who I had just seen die a horrible death in the swamp, was reincarnated or transmuted into Nick Boswell!! No one swam from that island I can assure you! It's almost enough to make me believe in me!!! The lost Astari moments before his death ( on the left ). Nick Boswell appeared a moment later ( on the right).

Update, 02/21/2015: Incidental- It grieves me a bit that when all the Astari are gone from Swamp Island I have no idea what I will do to amuse myself with Godus. Collect wheat and ore? To what purpose? Collect belief? I have millions and millions of belief. Again, to what purpose? I've made dozens of suggestions to 22Cans as have many other players, yet... nothing. Apparently there are many things "on the list." Can't you take one or two things off the list FuriousMoo and make them real? How difficult can it be to put some wolf packs in my realm to eat Followers for example? I use this example because it was "on the list" a long time ago. I'm not a complainer because complaining and grumbling is boring but geez, c'mon!! I've dug deep to make a game out of nothing but there's a limit. You see if there was a "goal" or "purpose" to Godus I could say to myself, "Okay, I've completed the game. I wish it was longer but it's over." I might even want to play it again to do "better." But of course there is no "better" or "worse." I sincerely hope that combat will solve this huge issue. I'm rooting for you. And please don't forget to tie the combat into the core game. That's critical IMO. If you have decided to use a "priest" or "prior" as the power implement of the player, for gods sake tie him into the lives and landscape of the Followers!! Have him wandering through the land helping people and whatnot between wars, so the reality is unified and coherent. I also think it's critical to have an opt-in for combat. I don't believe all players will always be in the mood for combat. There should be no or little penalty to opt-out. Thanks. Update, 01/21/2015: The Festival- Well, the population on Swamp Island has dropped from 112 to 106. An Astari named Erica teleported to the far north where she was welcomed into an Astari home. Astari converts are listed as 876, which I suppose could be correct if you include the some 600 consigned to purgatory ( a decision I should be making BTW ). I suppose one or two will remain lost in the swamp for the next three hours. I did get some nice snapshots. Here is a nice group shot of a bunch of Astari out for a stroll in the swamp. The girl in the lower left is trying to get the mud off her foot. Enchanting! I've provided an enlargement of her endearing high jinx for your amusement. ( The snapshots are actually pretty good if you click on them once to view larger. )

I must say that from looking at all the snapshots you posted I have really come to appreciate the look of the astari. Especially those smiley little masks they wear.

But, perhaps you haven't seen this Lord Ba'alHere is a nice picture of today's follies. Only the gods know what the male and female Astari are doing in the foreground. But when death is nigh inhibitions are oft thrown to the wind!! Nothing like this is permitted in my realm I'll tell you. Unless it happens behind closed abodes!!!

Tragically, a bunch more perished in The Swamp Of Misery today. The population of Swamp Island is at 77 so I suppose divine forgiveness is in order. I do hereby, therefore nullify the abominations of the miscreant Astari and intercede on their behalf. May they be teleported or transmuted into my blessed realm or may their travails in the hellish purgatory be, er... shortened to a time of, ah... less than eternity.
I hath spoken.
