I was watching Nerd3's play-through of Populous: The Beginning because, A) he's hilarious to listen to, and also B) because I am nostalgically comparing the classically simplistic awesomeness of Populous to that of the mediocre modern disappointment Godus.

You have to be really careful about locking your kid in a room. In some states it is called child cruelty tantamount to child abuse via false imprisonment. There is also a risk of injury if something like a fire breaks up and the door melds shut (parent paranoia)and then just the fact they have to learn to listen and not just be locked in. I would have spanked them before locking them in their bedrooms. And before it comes up, bare hand to bare ass is legal as long as you don't leave any lasting marks and after a few spankings, a stern warning of a spanking should stop them from leaving their rooms. I remember being sent to my room as a small kid and once I learned my lesson, the entrance to my doorway was like a star trek force field to me. It was not breached till my parents said it was okay. When my daughter was this young, I could not sleep unless I could peek in the door and see her sleeping. It's all just part of the joy of parenting. |
