Quoting myself here because I finally watched PM's latest puff piece (the recent video with Jack and Konrad) and saw that PM very hastily backtracked on his "tens of millions of dollars" figure when Konrad asked him directly (thanks Konrad). It turns out that out of those "tens of millions of dollars" - so at least 20 million dollars, right - Apple and the publisher and middleware take such an aggressive percentage, 22Cans as a company is left with mere pennies. Glad we've cleared that one up. *cough-bullshit-cough* If it's true (it isn't) then 22Cans needs to sack whoever is responsible for their business relationships, because they are being SHAFTED. Maybe PM should just stop wildly pulling revenue figures out of his ass as if nobody is going to pay attention. Edit: I can quantify this with some numbers. Apple takes 30% of revenue. DeNa, as I understand it, takes 15% of what 22Cans gets after Apple has taken its cut. PM also mentioned "the middleware". Not sure what that is, but lets assume another 15% after DeNa has taken its cut. Therefore, if we assume revenue of 20 million dollars, 22Cans gets 20,000,000 * 0.7 * 0.85 * 0.85 = 10.115 million dollars. Of course 22Cans is a UK company so lets roughly convert it using today's rate and call it £6.6 million. They can afford more resources. Or they could, if this was true and PM was not a habitual liar who just can't help himself.

There is no excuse for a penny of resources going to Trail until after all KS rewards are fufilled at the least, nobody twisted his arm to take years and mismanage his funds, so it a non acceptable reason to state financial resources. The Trail can wait, here is a tip PM, before you apologize for this mistake too.
Your rep of goodwill is gone with gamers and media, have you no shred of self respect left? Put your Trail on hold and finish what you promised or your word is as good as Dog pooh. Go cry me a river of excuses and spin, just put on your big boy pants and man up to your word.

Previously they have referred to middleware as their tooling, so the bit between their code/lua scripts and the hardware its actually running on - so the maramlade gubbins - not sure that makes sense here - but then little else does in that video.

I always find it interesting what is liked by x and some time current 22canners. I kind of think of it as little nods of acknowledgement that we are getting close to what was going on behind the scenes. That they can not out right say you are close or correct with that comment.

I would suggest middleware is off site storage type stuff, I bet DeNA host game accounts offsite mobage?

Whether that folds into any sort of licensing fees (I imagine it does), I'm not sure, but that's a fairly hefty sub fee, especially when you factor in however the support is handled (another $500 per 3 hours of support? what?). Publisher cuts would be separate, I think, and how much those are is uncertain.

Unfortunately the forum software currently doesn't allow such flexibility. As you may have noticed, none of the members who are part of a group that has it's own colour have any stars under their name. It's one or the other. Shame Not sure how superkeys work but there are some nice add-ins. www.proboards.com/library/plugins/item/72Are you fishing for an award?
