I kinda assumed people were already doing this for quite a while. I think it's overdue and its clear that the current development never tried not ever will achieve the promises that were made.

I thought you might enjoy some light reading while you file your complaints. Dev removes Early Access game from Steam - Kotaku
My favourite quote from the article? "We both take our obligation to finish the game very seriously, and it's not the first time we've spent thousands of hours finishing up a project with no expectation of future sales"

I like: Cats; single malt Scotch; Stargate; Amiga; fried potatoes; retro gaming; cheese; snickers; sticky tape.
I don't like: Dimples in the bottom of scotch bottles; Facebook games masquerading as godgames.

Has anybody sought serious legal advice that they can share the gist of?
Also 17,000 people apparently backed the kickstarter and many more bough steam early access. Have we considered doing a kickstarter for a legal campaign? I'd put in $20.
Someone could get a quote from a reputable law firm, emphasis on reputable, to take the case forward and we could set the target based on that. Maybe they would give us a deal or something because it would attract media attention and set new precedents around crowd funding and consumer law in the UK.
The case would most likely fail but boy it would put the shits up 22cans.

So has anyone besides distraction contacted kickstarter about a refund? I'm in an ongoing back and forth it seems with some smuck called Alfie... So far he's answering without answering in a way that would make Molyneux proud... Starting to piss me off if I'm honest

I got 2 copies Godus on a humble sale for me and my friend, so I don't think there's much I can do, to our my money back. At least some of it went to a charity.

As a Backer, I have not yet taken any actions towards a refund or reparations; as I believe it would be far more likely once the game is considered officially "complete" - however, if it does not reach that point come Summer 2015, I will likely present my request. For me, it's not so much the $20 USD as it is about holding responsible and accountable those that would take gross advantage of the crowdfunding platfrom.

In regards to refund requests, I found this on the Godus Kickstarter comments section:
Huge list of reasons.
Time for step 2 perhaps?

I look forward to future updates. I love how they say the plan was to do things pretty much as they have been, which is funny because there is a lot of evidence to suggest they have been calling this on the fly. It is amusing to observe the logical contortions neccessary to take a clusterfuck and portray it as an intended series of events.

I'm so tired of pointing out the fallacies in these retrograde attempts to rewrite the narrative of Godus's development. I'm just going to pass on dissecting all of Peter's statements above, for now.
If I could afford to go to the UK and visit the studios, and discuss these matters directly with Peter and the crew, I would do it without hesitations.

One user played Godus on steam for 347 hours! Wow and wooptiedoo. For a game that's supposed to be played everyday and last into eternity that is not an awful lot. Also, one user, lol. By the way, I had well over 900 hours logged on the alpha version.

If I could afford to go to the UK and visit the studios, and discuss these matters directly with Peter and the crew, I would do it without hesitations. The amusing part is if that was the initial plan, what maniac came up with it. "We'll develop the game on pc initially and then we'll port all the code over to mobile and then we'll scrap the pc version for 15 months and copy the mobile mechanics to pc with only small changes and then most of the team will abandon GODUS for the trail and then there will be a media shitstorm and peter will shame himself in front of the media and then we'll move a few token people back to GODUS and then we'll promise to complete a story, combat and multiplayer in 6-9 months which will incidentally be the timeframe we promised to complete the game and everything will be awesome! Does anybody have any questions or comments about the plan? No. Right well everyone get to work because we only have three years to implement this bad boy." Come to think about it the amusement will only get greater the longer this goes on. Imagine in another 12 months how much funnier the story will be and I don't mean the in game story.

If you're looking for advice on how to proceed in potentially getting your money back (oh yes, it can be done) then this link may help. steamcommunity.com/app/232810/discussions/0/618453594743761958/The info has also been posted to a number of other locations as well to ensure the maximum coverage so if it disappears from this link just ask around and someone may know where to get it. It will be directly applicable to anyone who paid via the Kickstarter project. However, the information may still be of use to anyone who purchased Godus from another source. Although the global location of the seller will be the deciding factor in exactly how useful this info will be to you.

What a crock.

No-one said they could read. I believe I've more than 10 times that 'one user' comment, so I guess they are laughing so much at the request for a refund they misread the digits.
