Did you see in tweets Fabs is officially back on GODUS. It sounds like media has lit a major fire under Peter's ass. It's a shame it takes the media to face up to his responsibilities. I regret that it had to come to this, but I gave them two chances. The first was with my purchase to show support for a PC game, the second was with the attempt at setting up a dialog and getting some proper answers. Seeing as they squandered the money on mobile and essentially BSed us on all the answers regarding any real PC development, it seemed only appropriate that someone do something. I doubt I got any of your hopes up back with the questions, apologies if I did, but I still look to that as a good attempt at getting them to dig their own graves a little (more, you might say). The initial draft of that post even said as much to a degree, before I cut it out to soften the tone. Speaking of BS, do you actually think Fabs is actually back on Godus for good... Or do you think it's more hokey pokey and he'll be back on the Trail as soon as the pitchforks are lowered. Not to mention they really weren't making leaps and bounds when he WAS on Godus in the first place. They are still going to lose money hand over fist when they turn multiplayer on, by Fabs own admission. I just don't know how Peter is going to save this. I wonder if a tiny part of his tiny, shriveled up conscience regrets losing George and Matthew the way he did... I'm sure they'd be invaluable right now, especially with the gestapo-like performance we're seeing currently on the steam forums.

It doesn't matter who is or isn't back on - this thing is a dead duck. No multiplayer just further illustrates the degree of coercion that went into selling this thing, since that was essentially the main selling point for the game. Quoted from the 'What Is Godus' promotional video - 'up to 50 million Gods will rule up to a trillion followers, on a planet the size of Jupiter'. That's how they hyped and sold this thing from the get-go. Obviously some of the points, like millions of players (even DOTA gets what, ~300k players concurrent a day) and a Jupiter-sized world, are just ludicrous, but no one forced Peter to promote the game this way. It's coercion at best, fraud at worst.
Not to be overly pessimistic, but Fabs being back on does nothing. The blunt truth is that to date, 22Cans and Peter Molyneux's best effort at the re-genesis of the god game, a genre he is credited with having created, is no better than a bland farmville-esque cow-clicking mobile game, with the PC version being a lazy port of the mobile version. A far cry from the persistent cross-platform game that was pitched. There is less innovation in design and gameplay present than in the recent Kim Kardashian mobile game.

It's ironic but most of us are here becuase we got pissed off at the censorship on the steam forums. Had they not been banning, deleting and locking we might not have come here, moo may not have said what he said here and this whole mess may have been avoided (although I'm glad it wasn't). So in a way you can blame Muir and Aynen for this PR clusterfuck.

I wonder if Peter, Muir, and Aynen are huddled in a circle right now furiously huffing e-cigs, assuring each other of how great a guys they are, how no one understand them, and how this is somehow all Moo's fault, and not their own.

Thought this might be relevant here, since the articles obviously reached a lot of people. For those who aren't following the steam forums any more: Someone posted detailed instructions on how he and the community got refunds on Elite: Dangerous, when the devs decided they won't be supporting offline single player just before release. steamcommunity.com/app/232810/discussions/0/612823460273196949/#c612823460277675323So Aynen is flexing his sheriff badge on the forums again. I also noticed the amount of pinned threads is increasing (2/3 of the threads on 1st page). Possibly to bury others?

Did anyone screenshot it or copy it, by any chance?

Might be easier to ask him to post it here, as steam rules do not apply to this forum, nor does 22Cans moderate it.

Do you understand that by deleting his posts and threatening him you made the whole issue worse? What would have happened if you'd just let them discuss refunds? I'll tell you - nothing. This forum has the two laziest moderators I've ever met and its fantastic. Not only do we have a great community where 22cans feel safe but we brought down the great Peter Molynuex. He is on his knees and not even a teary interview can save him now. Pay Brian Now! For all gamers everywhere.

Glad to see someone caught it. =) I don't intend to pursue its use, but I do want it available for anyone else to use, if they feel so inclined. Thanks for sharing that, totallytim! I've advised those interested in the thread where that originated to visit these boards to view it, but without linking to this post specifically, so hopefully that won't be problematic (and we can direct them here anyway).

I´d certainly like to see communication being handled better, but I also understand that delays, even major ones, do happen. That would taste less sour though if communication was good. And from what little I know (which is from the same article you probably read) I think keeping Brian in the loop could have been handled better.

And I'm going to sit on the middle ground here and say that Aynen is likely just doing what is asked and expected of him in his limited Mod duties. Not that I agree with how things are handled, but I'm a fair and even-keeled person; mostly because the world is too big, and life too short, to carry hatred in the heart.

If I was Brian I would be happy for my communication to come in the form of a regular pay check. I can't imagine any valid excuse for not paying him.

Honestly, the poo storm over on Steam is starting to feel Sophomoric. While I understand wanting to get the information out, anyone with a bit of forum savvy would know that repeatedly tossing out copy/pasted walls of text is going to end badly. The banning was deserved and Demosthien's actions are going to lead to it as well, and for good reason. The mods have actually been more timid in reacting than we've seen in the past.

Steam always catches the brunt of it, as might be expected, I guess. I could have seen this coming a mile away given what I saw over on Spacebase's and StarForge's boards when they failed to deliver.
