A truly excellent read. Though it sucks that the kid was hoodwinked like the rest of us I feel the Cons are very much remiss for not giving him any portion of their current profits. I'm sure I'd be equally complaining the opposite if he was getting something and couldn't be challenged. Damned if you do, damned if you don't I guess.
Oh well, as they say in the ending song of life of Brian, "I mean - what have you got to lose? You know, you come from nothing - you're going back to nothing. What have you lost? Nothing!"

Thanks for linking this. I think we've all been wondering about just what the hell happened with this guy, and it's hardly surprising that he hasn't been very vocal in the community since he himself admits he isn't very enthusiastic about Godus and doesn't even really care about holding the "God of Gods" role. All he's interested in, understandably, is the money. As well he might be, since according the revenue calculations I've made (based on PM's bullshit statements, that it) Bryan is currently owed £60-100k!
I especially like the bit where he got sat down in 22Cans studio and asked to play alpha-Godus for 3 hours, then got taken to the pub and ignored. I also visited 22Cans studio once and found the staff to be massively disinterested in the guests they were supposed to be entertaining.
I don't understand the whole process they're going through with the "revenue accrual" though. If Bryan is presently entitled to 1% of revenue from Godus, why are they accruing it instead of giving it to him? If he isn't entitled to it until "God of Gods" functionality goes live, why accrue? Maybe they're accruing to cover their backs, but have no intention of actually releasing the cash?

Thanks I also wondered what happened to him and this is just the cherry on top to finish the story of how bad things are truly there.

"My producer says by the first week of April we should have the combat completely finished." lol. That line stood out for me too; once again we're informed of a potential feature release timeline through an offhanded comment by Peter in an interview. We know it is supposedly being planned, thanks to FuriousMoo, but at least now we have some idea when to get an update on it's progress and implementation. So, we can cut some slack in regards to it, though we should by no means become lax in keeping them on task providing progress updates on these features. "The proof will be in the pudding."

Didn't say which April. Joking aside, I think comms is not being handled very well right now, and the press are taking advantage of it. I'm also not saying anything being said is unjust, just that you should probably expect a lot of lovely quotable reactive stuff from Peter in the next 48 hours. This is going to be a hell of a ride...

lol. Thanks, Raspofabs - I knew I liked you for reasons. Also, really glad to see you're still lurking around. We miss your input, awesome ideas, and camaraderie. I hope you don't get scolded for "mingling with the peasants". Best of luck to ya'll in the trenches.

I love how these journalists are, in effect, functioning as Peter's long lost, disjointed conscience. "Oh... You're RIGHT! ... We did treat Bryan poorly.. ... Didn't we.... Hmmmm... I'll call him myself, and email him every day... Wheeeeeeee!!!" I'm glad the irony isn't lost on you Fabs. I just hope, for Furious' sake, that these next 48 hours aren't filled with even more Godus brand Peter Promises that he'll never fulfill. Best of luck, I too shall be enjoying aforementioned popcorns.

That article was brilliant. I hope someone puts this on TV.
I don't understand why he doesn't have the money? Why do they have to accrue it instead of pay it? It must be a lot at 1% which is a lot higher than I thought it would be. 22cand should just pay out, they owe Brian that.
I don't think there will be any media fight back by peter, if anything the actual situation as we perceive it is worse than the media has portrayed.
I think Bryan is incedibly mature about this. If I was him I would be raising hell about it. Id probably have let it ruin my life with the angst but he is just getting on with things and that is a good thing for him.

Peter is just trying to cover up the damning reality. I'm happy for you to tell me otherwise but as I see it, if you could implement multilayer you would have done it already.

We've been able to, just not been able to afford the costs associated with releasing it. That's always been the issue. If we do release it, it's going to have to come with some kind of price tag. That or its going to be limit to lan/steam friends games like it was when we first launched. The hubworld approach needs monetisation otherwise we'd sink in a week from costs. I think the Multiplayer he's planning is based on these known problems. Not sure what that means yet.

Raspofabs Thanks I was thinking of finding a popcorn eating jeg or something like it. Hang in there man we know your one of the good ones there..... or are you? /9-> After reading that it sucks how they treated him. Just bring him in and dump him off like he is some ones kid they brought to work. "Here sit here and keep yourself entertained while daddy does his job."

I'm the only good one left.

DOH. I am sorry to hear that. We if you get a chance to move on to greener pastures make sure and let us know. I know I am not the only one that would follow you to a different game, as others have said, I love the ideas you have thrown out there and would love to see a game idea you came up with get made.

Good thing you guys never sold it under such a pretense! Oh wait ...

Bryan sounds alot like myself; I probably would have done the same thing and just moved on with my life (as I have done a few times throught this project, almost permanently at one point). Eventually he would probably have checked back to see if 22cans was still even functioning, but he's young and has more things to worry about than some contest he barely cared about and the peculiar company that ignored him. He seems like a very level headed, laidback kid, and I wish we had known more about him prior to this date; he'd be a great addition to the community.
