I think you may be right. I went ahead and added it to my thread's OP. It's nice to keep all those articles compiled. Whew, talk about a busy week.

It's been crazy, you can see the house of cards collapsing. I wouldn't be surprised if the media didn't pick up on Brian's situation because it is so heart wrenching. If anyone sees coverage on tv or anything in the UK please let us know so we can search it out on the Internet.

Seems like that is some kind of corporate philosophy - make empty promises - then wait, and wait, and wait and hope that everybody forget about it.
At least he didn't have to pay to get nothing, i wish i was him. maybe they can send him a printed artwork with printed scans of handsigned signatures.
Sorry, i never believed that this great life-changing prize was planned like that. For me it looked like Peter and the Finance Department realised that curiosity could not be monetized like planned and searched for a way to stop curiosity without losing too much money. God of Gods was perfect, nothing to pay ( immediately ) and big publicity.
Don't get me wrong, i have no Problem with Bryan, i wish he could get the money. But i paid almost 150 Pounds to get the print i mentioned above and a cheap t-shirt. Ok, it was some Kind of Entertainment to watch this all happen, just like one of those daily soaps. Maybe we can sell this story to a TV Station: "Game of Gods", "Modern Game Designers" or "22 broke Game Designers".

A truly excellent read. Though it sucks that the kid was hoodwinked like the rest of us I feel the Cons are very much remiss for not giving him any portion of their current profits. I'm sure I'd be equally complaining the opposite if he was getting something and couldn't be challenged. Damned if you do, damned if you don't I guess. Oh well, as they say in the ending song of life of Brian, "I mean - what have you got to lose? You know, you come from nothing - you're going back to nothing. What have you lost? Nothing!" Peter Molyneux himself has stated that Bryan was receiving a portion of all the profits from Godus ever since he won Curiosity. It was in a video update.

Did he say receiving, or accruing? I can vaguely remember seeing that vid, but can't now recall what was said. Would be interesting to know exactly what Pete said, because i'm sure that could make quite a difference if things ever do end up in court for Bryan. Anyone remember which vid this was.

From my recollection he said both. Initially he said receiving then later he said we are accruing it for him. That's how I remember it anyway.

Someone on the steam forum had a fantastic idea just now. IF Godus multiplayer is ever implemented, and IF Bryan is ever installed as the "God of Gods", wouldnt it be awesome to do everything in the communities power to help him keep his reign as long as possible to make up for all of the BS he's had to put up with at the hands of 22cans?
Now that would be something, haha.

I thought I recalled that too, though he might have said they were putting it aside in an account. TO THE VIDEOS!!! Someone on the steam forum had a fantastic idea just now. Now that would be something, haha. That would be EPIC! And stranger things have been accomplished by a community banding together. If we can get the word out (Reddit, Steam, and all the major gaming sites) I think it's potentially possible to accomplish. " A great community, with great ideas, leads to great success!"

I think the wording PM used was "earned" which would fit with accruals. I'm still not convinced by the accounting logic behind it though.

Or the community can stick together help each other to get God of Gods and then invest the money in making a great pc God Game. But i think the biggest problem with both versions will be to get a working multiplayer in Godus.

The key thing to remember here is that when we release [Godus] later this year, we’re going to continue developing it, without stopping. We’re not moving on to another IP even. lol

Peter can't even keep up with his own BS... Please do us all a favor and get this quote and source over to kotaku/wired/etc stat. This quote in and of itself might be grounds for steam/kickstarted refunds depending on where/when it was said.

I've sent a few emails in response to articles that were posted about this situation and pointed out the Video Transcripts section of this forum. All the videos they'd ever need are right there for the viewing. They are a gold mine of these sorts of blatant double-speak quotes.

Not exactly what your looking for, but it all helps build the picture of what was promised vs what has been delivered. MVCUK: 22Cans to focus solely on Godus

Silly journalists.

If your paranoid that they are going to start removing videos, you could use one of the many youtube video/audio downloaders to copy it to your machine. I can recommend listentoyoutube.com if your just interested in getting mp3's.
