Hmm, so I went back to Homeworld and now there is sound. Wonky! Now I'm figuring you don't get the treasure chest story unless you start over. So if they were really clever the 22Cans guys would engrave the story on an obelisk or something for people who are past that point? Again, maybe FuriousMoo Raspofabs mrdrpink or someone at 22Cans can explain what advantages starting over would have, if any at all, in terms of future upgrades? It also occurred to me that maybe the story is only on PC and not on IOS or other devices at all. Anyway I understand the story is not all that important? Sorry if this is not really the right thread for all this but it was when I considered starting over that these issues reared their (ugly?) heads. FYI. There have been a lot of necessary resets in the past and I'm sure there will be a lot more to come. This is because the game is still in development. I learned that the hard way when I put hundreds of hours in the alpha sculpting myself into insanity and then losing all progress in the first update. Anyway... It's a bit odd that the game is supposed to be a continuous running world while at the same time it's supposed to remain in continuous development (according to Molyneux) yet it requires players to reset for most main updates. But hey, what can you do. We've seen much stranger things right. It is what it is. Hmm (again),... Looks like I'm getting my first real awakening regarding the absurdity of this entire process. Are you sure Lord Ba'al "continuous development" shouldn't be "perpetual development?" Makes me glad I documented my triumph over the Astari because it looks like I might have to do it over and over... like Groundhog Day or Edge of Tomorrow, Live, Die, Repeat.

Regarding the concurrent sessions, so that we all have the same experience I'd suggest that use of the balance mod tool or using 3rd party balance mods from the workshop be avoided. So we'd all be playing the game 100% vanilla as 22Cans currently have it laid out. Sorry if this has already been mentioned but only glanced through the various pages, as there was quite a bit of side-discussion going on.

Sorry if this has already been mentioned but only glanced through the various pages, as there was quite a bit of side-discussion going on. While it is certainly completely fine, and welcomed, for anyone to participate and play at any stage in the game - be it a fresh start or well into Weyworld - I personally am going to be playing a new 100% unaltered install of Godus. It's not a complete reinstall, but I wiped all my save data (after backing it up, of course) and verified the game cache. I did a quick test to make sure it ran, and all seemed to work fine. So, I will be starting from scratch and without use of the BFE. This should be interesting (and, I expect, slightly frustrating) to re-experience Godus at it's most basic. I initially set up my Twitch stream using XSplit, but now I'm considering using OBS - but I haven't had time to test it yet, so I may just go with what I have. I realized, after setting it up, that I probably should have a second monitor in order to keep up with the community chatter, as well as monitor my Twitch channel. So I might have to make a quick run in the morning to get one; luckily there's a retail office supply store literally 2 blocks from my residence. Or, I might just set up my laptop on the desk and monitor on that. Along with that, I will also try taking notes and making screenshots of anything noteworthy (like glitches, bugs, references for my notes, etc). It might get a bit complicated and overwhelming, as well as a challenge to keep up without getting too put-off by the experience. I'm not doing this because I particularly enjoy the game, but partly as a community event, but also to - once and for all - make yet another effort to give the game a fair shake and provide feedback to the devs. But this is really the last time. No, seriously, I mean it. Unless there are measurable improvements to the game. Anyhow, I will probably start my gametime at about 10am CST (16:00 GMT-6) - depending on how well I sleep and get motivated in the AM. And if I decide to get a monitor or not.

Question - Usually Sunday for my US buddies means Monday for me (Australian AEST). Is that the case for this as well? Thus, instead the event will not be starting in the next 24 hours?

I'll not be playing during those hours but will try to check the forums. Not sure twitch works for iPad or iPhone but would be interesting to watch twitch feed if you guys doing it post links. Good luck to all the dedicated Godus players!

There is an option under xsplit gamecaster to show twitch chat as an overlay, but I don't think it lets you type into that interface. May I suggest we congregate on a single twitch chat or chat service to make things easier?

No, we're starting today, on Saturday, anywhere between now and a few hours from now. I still have to remove and reinstall godus though.

Using my amazing future foresight, here's how the first few hours of each sessions coverage will go:
* OK... these tutorials need to be made skippable. * Anyone else noticed with these dev commentaries recorded almost half a year ago that that some of the changes "Being made in the coming weeks" still aren't to be seen? * More tutorials.... these really need to be made skippable like we were promised 7 months ago. * FFS make these tutorials skippable 22Cans!!!!! * DO IT NOW!

I've just redecorated the living room in order to maximize the efficiency of the godus community experience. I wonder how Qetesh is gonna feel about that when she sees it after she finally gets her lazy ass out of bed.

My cat is in heat and that is severely influencing my ability to operate a computer.
I think she's having Pon Farr.

Okay so I just started up godus to set up my ehm... set up, and it turns out my game is not starting from the beginning. Have to reset the damn thing.
Just deleted two prf... folders, let's see if that does the trick.
