I just finished building the last beacon on Weyworld and I'm now annoyed by a chunk of still greyed out land in the middle of the map, beneath the little mountainous Astari village. As far as I can see, I've gotten every beacon. I've checked a few maps online and don't see any more. I know that the beacons shine in circles but the fact that they don't overlap in the middle just seems wrong. I was also hoping that that would allow me to finally sneak someone onto the Astari land for a mass conversion. There's a spot to the north of that Astari village where one of my followers theoretically could go, but as soon as they step onto Astari land they shut down and start shrugging at me. One of them even got stuck there for a few days, a few steps from his abode, on flat terrain.. so sad. I was hoping that there would be a way through the south but that's the greyed out area I mentioned. So I guess I'm just wondering if the greyed out spots mid map are normal, and if there's any way to sneak a missionary onto Astari land in Weyworld.. Or do I have to wait 80 or so more days to convert them all in little batches of ten...?
For what it's worth, I'm on ios, and I don't want to bomb the Astari. They're a lot brighter than my original followers, for one. Sad, sad, shrugging jerks, that lot. Thanks for any help!

Could you send a screenshot of this to Godusfeedback@22cans.com and I'll see what the problem might be.

I documented part of my struggles with the Astari under "Top Threads." Actually took about 40 days total in Weyworld to subdue them all by happiness and attrition without "bombing." There are a few small grey spots in my IOS Weyworld but they do not block anything. What the heck is a "missionary?" Maybe you're playing on a newer version? Anyway good luck with all that. mrdrpink is usually fairly helpful. BTW, I could only "convert" about a quarter of the Astari.

My less friendly method in weyworld was to kill 998 (set them on fire or squished them) and saved 2 with rain of purity which I then converted 2 via higher happiness and got control of their buildings

I used the comet to destroy the Astari village then flattened it and built farms on the vacant plot (except for the Astari God, who is now sitting on a pillar in the middle having had all the land around sculpted away).
However, I'm now stuck as there don't seem to be any more beacons to discover. Are any of them buried on the map?

That is it, there is always grey areas left and no extra beacons, if you missed any buried ones they are marked with a green light that goes straight up like the rest.

Ok, thanks. That sort of renders the game pointless if you can't progress any further, doesn't it?

Same here, just 'finished' weyworld and wondering what's next. I resisted coming here until now as I don't like spoilers and wanted to play without preconceptions. It took about six weeks to get here (iOS version) and I have to say, I've really enjoyed it.
So much to love about the aesthetics - The models and animations are delightful, from the raising of buildings to the celebrating followers and lots of other little details. GOOD JOB. The sound design is fantastic. Is it just me or do the belief orbs sometimes play tunes? I'm sure I've heard Mozart and 'English country garden', maybe it's just because they follow a scale but hey GOOD JOB. Whispering chests and environmental sounds are brilliant. Love the miners. Hate the grain collect sound btw that pretty much gets the game muted immediately. The palette is gorgeous, day/night, storms, beautify all noted. GOOD JOB. Would like to see more weather like wind, rain, snow, heatwave, clouds. Could wax on about the sculpting and path finding and leashing and squishing all being genius efforts, suffice to say GOOD JOB.
Single biggest improvement would be NOT to be able to wipe out the astari, did it by accident on Homeworld trying just to subdue them a little. Didn't mean for genocide! Smiled them on the second level cos my farmers kept defecting and progress was so slow and frustrating.
Next improvement would be exports, I should have been able to send supply ships to the new world. This could also provide some incentive to return home as currently there's no reason once all the gems have been mined.
Journeys, quite interesting, would like more or be able to replay it. Lot of Dev went into that bit for it to only be played once for an hour. Probably the easiest way for the devs to provide some longevity or reason to keep looking in after reaching a pause.
As it stands having done the last beacon and temple in Weyworld, I believe I'm finished until there's in update although I'M NOT SURE! Which is also a problem.
Definitely room for more story, and a lot more that could be done with the individuals in the world. Lot's of opportunity to add rare finds, special gems or ore and the ability to do something with them.
Have just spent an hour reading around the life of the project, I had played Curiosity and am familiar with Molyneux games since Populous and Magic Carpet. Incredibly brave/foolish to do the project in the open as a Kickstarter and they shouldn't be surprised by public vitriol, anyone who has released an app will be familiar with the harshness of reviewers. I develop apps, have released a dozen projects I'm proud of, SOLD millions of installs generating over a million quid profit and had many top ten placements in yearly round ups of best apps -- it's still the odd review that says "it's shit" that hurts. Most of my stuff is about 1% of the complexity of Godus and can still take a year to produce. In case you were wondering, I don't have that million, the point he makes in a recent video is spot on, Apple or store take 30%, taxman take 20%, then stakeholders, middleware, servers, office space etc. There's not a lot left, especially with a free to play!
I also totally get the burn out of the team. Ideas come easier than polished software and seemingly simple mechanics can take forever to implement and Q/A. I say an app isn't ready to release until you are absolutely sick of testing it. Then you just want to be done and on to the next thing. Sounds like the lesson learned is that no one likes to repeat themselves, main Dev should have continued, mobile should have forked and been done in parallel. Focus should have been on progression of features and fun for the players. Decouple the creative and dev with the exception of your best architects. Fun for the players is key to keep it live and profitable. I haven't spent a penny on the game thus far. What would I pay for now? Combat sounds interesting if done right, I'm usually happy to pay occasionally for genuine competition so long as I don't feel the game is ripping me off. If I can wait then fine, if I want to pay play more NOW I might do once I a while. Personally Zoo Keeper Battle gets this just right for me, I'll pay because I love it, not because I have to.
That was a lot longer than than it set out to be!

I can't tell you how much I love "Sad, sad, shrugging jerks." Original followers: can see rocks 500 yards away but not steps that are 5 feet away. I finally killed one who was hopelessly lost. I love the Astari. They have colorful homes and they can swim. My Ark is mostly filled with them, so I hope they do well in Weyworld.

Oh, woe is me. My Astari on the Ark all transformed into original followers on the voyage. Dumber than dirt. Just turn around, the steps are right beside you!

I came here looking for answers about converting astari. I have been in Weyworld for months and it's taking FOREVER to convert them all, one by one. I make sure to have my happiness at the highest level for every astari festival and I still only convert one at a time. However, the few times I haven't been able to play and they are happier than my people by even a little, they convert 30-50 of my followers. This is extremely unfair. And with still over 600 followers, it will take me nearly two more years to continue converting one by one. This can't be right! Also, I refuse to harm them. Please help!

I also have an astari hut that perpetually says 1/2 occupants no matter how many new converted astari move into it.

Been a long time, but try having a fountain of happiness activate and using the beautify at the same time as the astari festivals, that may help. Edit: and killing a few astari helps too, finger of god on a few of them or on a tree a few times, makes a fire and them unhappy

Jocelynrenee, have you checked the Astari population count by clicking on the Happiness slider? Generally even though it looks like only one is coming over the numbers indicate that several invisible Astari came along as well. And I had a magical hut that housed every Astari that entered it as well--some kind of dodge on the lease, I suppose--and it's a great gift, because it absorbs Astari without you having to find new space for them. In my game the Astari stopped heading toward that hut after I expanded the land to the right of their island. Now they have to scale cliffs, but as they're getting free lifetime housing at the end I don't feel too bad for them. It could be coincidence, but I found that the one night I was up and playing during an Astari festival a lot more Astari defected.
Happy to find another straggler who's playing Godus these days!

I know this is posting into the void these days, but something interesting happpened that I haven't seen documented. During the Astari festival in Weyworld not only did I get my usual small complement of joiners from the center island but the Astari workers on the northwest island (the one with no abode) all defected, and now I can sculpt and build in the northwest. Even more interesting, the older game I'm running on my iPad, which isn't linked to the other and wherein I've converted over half of the Astari in Weyworld, suddenly gave up the Astari on the northwest island and on the central island, with both now user sculptable; that didn't even happen in association with a festival. Are the Astari World War I Germans triggered by the date to surrender? Is this the unspooling of a doomsday mechanism? Are they just fleeing America post-election? I don't know, but it sure surprised the hell out of me.
