Ok so we got blue chests of sorry story last weekend in main branch, and having had to destroy a couple of minor abodes to uncover them and find several non-story blue chests I was done with them on PC (still cannot find 4). This weekend sees the blue bilge arrive in mobile. I say arrives, I can neither confirm nor deny their existence since the game no longer launches after the update (0.0.26)!

The launch state and ongoing development of mobile GODUS is completely inappropriate since its not disclosed as an alpha.

Alphas are not this unstable.

The genius of Molyneux decided to ship it as a game built in the Genesis/Mega Drive and SNES era of games, before games could be built around updates. Every update shakes the very core of the game to breaking point because it wasn't built for it. =P

Alphas are not this unstable. then you never played any real alpha:) True, alphas are generally feature complete (except for feature creep in development and post-release development) and beta is when you squash the bugs and add last-minute polish. Godus is more like a tech demo being sold as an alpha that is considered fully released by the management. Happy Birthday, 2.0...wha?

Never played a real Molyneux alpha then...? =P This is the guy who had to have his team scrap Dungeon Keeper and rebuild it from scratch before it was releasable, basically. As well as the guy who tried to suggest it would ever make sense to make a FPS with everything else to it but not the guns, which would then make everything make sense.

So 0.0.27 which allegedly fixes the in ability to load since the last update has been pushed. The various bugfixes strap line not that useful but at least it launched.

Newsflash in the you couldn't make it up stakes.
So 0.0.27 allows me to open the blue chests, big whoop - not. I can also pay 8 jewels per chest to decrypt decipher them instead...
Though it later became 5 so may not not per chest...

That' s not just severely lame, but really terrible. How could anyone be proud at producing this amateurish money-grab? Sorry, you can be proud to have worked on and made "a thing" that is there for the world to see; what I mean is, compared to the thing they promoted to make, this is a laughable monstrosity of a disaster. Molyneux deserves all the ridicule he gets. I would distance myself from it, too.

Oh man, I've got some fun shots for you today! Here's the link to a continuation of my exploring mobile album, but here they are for you below too: And finally, the pièce de résistance: Uninteresting details: The first few screenshots are taken after a fresh installation of Godus, waiting through the double loadbars (because there's a loadbar for the real loadbar, for some reason), immediately upon entering the game. Everything's fucked up about it, the framerate's shit, the tutorial as shown there is totally fucked and you can hardly get it to work. I initially started to run a check on a tablet, thinking maybe that would be slightly more pleasant, but hell no, same shit there. Moved to my phone, and joy of joys...It does the same thing, except I got it to the belief unlock that time, at which point it realized how fucking shitty it was being and killed itself...Only to be reborn, inexplicably working, to my surprise. So then I get through the crappy tutorial for the hundredth time in a blaze of speed only recognizable as speed due to the prior shitshow, and capture the screenshot of holy crap they expect people to use gems on the story, oh my gosh I had to see it for myself engarde.

Embarrassing... >I'm< embarrassed for 22cans... ugh..
This is the sort of thing that makes me believe Clash of Clans doesn't have much to worry about, at all, from the likes of Molyneux as a competitor.
I just don't understand how Molyneux has the slightest hope that he's one day going to usurp the mobile crown from CoC when he's peddling garbage like this... it's astounding.

I should add, perhaps, that I'm not even running on a super old device either. Phone's a 2013 Moto X, which while no beast of a mobile device, shouldn't run into those issues just yet. I thought it slightly understandable (if frustrating) with my tablet, being that it's a 2012 model, but yeaah...The issues were practically the same.

My phone (Samsung Galaxy S4) just updated itself from KitKat to Lolipop, I never could get Godus to run before, but with this update I Re-installed it hoping that it would work, and saints be praised it finally opened up for me. My excitement was short lived. The framerate was absolute shit, borderline unplayable, dragging land gesture was hit n' miss when it wanted to work or not, and there where graphic glitches everywhere, those weird square regions from Gmr Leon's screenshots were all over my screen as-well. I didn't even bother playing all the way through the tutorial before switching it off in disgust. Wow, just wow. They actually believe it's fair to charge people for unlocking that story. Talk about nickel and diming, sheesh, whats running through their heads? I can just imagine whats next, the game starts out all in grey scale, and you have to pay for each colour that you want to use in the game, something like this... ( I accept no blame if this "feature" somehow finds it's way into Godus )

It's amazing that 22cans are not embarrassed to produce a game that doesn't work and eats people's progress. I'd try and get a refund if I was a F2P player and had bought gems.

Sounds like you ran into my experience in a nutshell, until my persistence led me to reload the app after it crashed. It really is just nuts that that's currently the very first experience for some Android users, then they have the gall to ask for money for anything.engarde/ Spiderweb: do either of you know if it's really optional? I saw some spots where there wasn't a gem tag next to it, but in briefly panning over the map, I didn't see another story chest around the voyage docks (as I'm pretty sure there's one around there on PC), so it led me to also think that they may be paywalled.
