With how the game's data appears to be rather visible (take a look at this for an easy example: steamcommunity.com/app/232810/discussions/0/540742667358792410/ ) it appears that Godus is going to turn into more of an exploit-fest than it already has been. Hacks, exploits, glitches, all are part of the game already for those sufficiently annoyed by nagwalls on the mobile versions (and the historically bad design for "PC"), to the point that searching on hints will give you pages of results.
Now combat and multiplayer are going to be entertained, along with a "multiplayer winner" of the "God of Gods" who will in turn earn a fraction of the sales during their time.
Already, there are leaderboards and high score tables for games - including mobile titles - that have been packet-sniffed and disassembled to send in bogus scores. Now there will most definitely be a problem, while exploits could be even easier than disassembling transmissions, due to the coding for what appears designed as a single-player game client being clearly inadequate for preserving multiplayer game balance and data integrity. This is something the Reign of Kings folks are finding out, exactly how much exposed data their reskinned StarForge has, as god-moded speedhackers have been one-shot roflstomping servers apart.
Congratulations, 22cans! You're on the path to finding out who can exploit best and not be caught, to the point that you might as well have released Godus with a copy of CheatEngine.
Also, what are your moderators going to do about topics like that one once those programs create cheats and exploits for the game people are expected to compete for a paying reward? (Hint: Those topics actually violate the REAL Steam forum rules!)
