No idea, nor interest - but some kind of advert.
I've mined some 300+ gems for which I've nothing to 'buy' with them so why they think this warrants an update I'm completely unable to explain.

I happen to try the game last night on IOS and while loading into the game I heard an ad in the background. SO I guess if they can not get you to look at an ad for revenue they will just force you to "watch" one as you load up the game.

We have to do an update when things like new OS updates are issued by format holders. There are also some generic server side fixes that Godus mobile benefitted from (load times). These fixes build up over time and when we do an OS update they get released to those formats. There is also the ability to get some free gems by watching an advert which is a fairly common f2p mechanic provided by publishers and a bit of a win for the player. |

I just opened it again and again it happened. Sounds like part of a candy crush one, then close and open again and got a 10 sec? just as it loads different ad. No words this time just music. |

That's invest to play - a completly new kind of monetization. Copy any kind of monetization someone of the team read about and squeeze it in a mediocre mobile app. Let me guess, Peter read about crossy road lately? Must be hard to see that two people with an old idea make a bunch of money while a whole team with lots of hype and many "new and revolutionary" ideas have problems earning enough money to refund their backers.

My posting has tanked and I'm just happy to watch things play out for a few weeks. It's been really great to see multiple 22cans people just pop in and engage with things of various significance. I'm not saying everything is fixed or that everything will work out in the end but for the moment I'm satisfied to watch them work and hope for the best. |
