If I remember rightly this was a few months before the much-anticipated release of v2 or whatever it was, which was the turning point where a potentially interesting and engaging game (v1.3) was taken in an undeniably freemium direction. This was when the community was struck with the unpleasant realisation that 22Cans had actually been working on the mobile version for the last 6 months and had entirely lost interest in the PC game, having secured the cash from the Early Access launch.
Peter has insisted from the very beginning that Godus was going to revolutionise the free-to-play model. As he says in this interview his intention was to "successfully monetize [free-to-play games] because players are wiling to invest in them as if they were hobbies." He identified that most freemium games take a large proportion of their revenue from 'whales' and he dislikes this model and feels it is exploitative.
I would like to know if Peter believes that he achieved this goal with Godus.

There s maybe a way to make a good free to play game, but there's to follow the main recipe. I don't see where the way to revolutionarize it. It already perfectly works for LOL, WOT, TF2, etc... if there's a wish to change it, there may be a scam in behind, and the game goes to disaster(at least for real gamers)...
Godus's not at all finished I remind, it's only 52% done, and the main game mechanic still aren't here. >_<
Anyway, there's a chance it's gonna be completed by 2025.

It doesn't work for WOT anymore, they failed the balance.

--works frantically to squeeze money out of people before they realize what's happening. Exactly. It isn't that Peter is again "overpromising" anything, but instead was shoveling out some really obvious lies right before 22cans did the exact same thing themselves as if testing what they could get away with, to the point that it appears that 22cans is an entire piss-take of a developer more than the fellows who offered us Goat Simulator. That means those who have recently left from more senior positions - such as Jack Attridge, Tim Rance, Peter Murphy - were probably not just looking out for their own careers, but also minimising their own culpability once possible investigations start rolling around, particularly if the company is heading for insolvency. Those fellows know at least some parts of the whole, and all of the things done to support Peter Molyneux's grand plans to...yeah, ultimately clone the exact thing he was condemning to pull a runner to another game before anyone realised that was what happened. The amount of planning, involvement, etc. for these things to be perpetuated by 22cans...more than a couple of people know a lot more than they are telling, and it was all clearly planned out. As such, there is no sympathy to be had for any management of 22cans, previous or current, for their part in helping perpetuate this. There is plenty of sympathy to be had for those new to the industry, who are being taken advantage of by this manipulative and dishonest company many times over to shoulder the brunt of its policy of deceit and fraud. I'll just put it out there that NDAs do not cover illegal activities nor employer abuse in any form.
