Less than 3 hours until the 2015 Steam Summer Sale kicks off. Prepare your wallets. Track the sales through Steam Database to see and compare the best deals. And remember, choose wisely; refunds aren't guaranteed.

Some tips to getting the best deals for your money. Browse the genres you enjoy - and perhaps some you are curious about - and wishlist anything that catches your fancy. Wishlists help you track the sales of things you want, easier, and focus on just those; try not to buy on a whim. Don't buy anything that is on discount for the duration (make note of the prices and when that item's sale ends); Many things will be discounted throughout the entire sale, but may be cheaper during a daily deal or the limited time flash sales, if it does then buy it - otherwise buy it on the last day of the sale, or wait until the 2015 Winter Sale. Also, don't forget the encore sale on the last day, where they repeat many of the best discounts on popular titles. Anyone bought anything yet? I think I'll be passing today. They said it's better to hold off at first day. I couldn't contain myself, though, and took Grand Ages: Rome. I'm too much of a Haemimont fan.

Wel, it's -75%. It was seen at -80 before, though. Holding off for now. The 75% discount is on for the entire sale

No, I was talking about Rome. I don't know about Machines, though it's likely to be the same. If it starts with -75...

They said it's better to hold off at first day. it's typically suggested not to buy anything on the first day, unless it's a really deep discount. I took "the detail"(75%), "Randald's monday"(66%) and "Sherlock Holmes Crimes and Punishments" (66% a few hours ago, now 33%). All three titles have been on my wishlist for quite a while now and aside from "the detail", which isn't even really expensive, the price was constantly around the same level. When there was a sale in the past the discount wasn't that high, especially the games from daedalic are rarely for sale with a high discount, often it's only 15 or 20 %. So, I think I am a lucky one then, hehe.

I'm gonna jump on The Detail, too, but probably not until the end of the sale. Obviously it's not going to get lower, but since it's at that rock bottom price throughout the sale there's no rush; my only hesitation is I may want to get a few bigger titles instead without blowing through my savings.

Wel, it's -75%. It was seen at -80 before, though. Both Enhanced Steam and SteamDB seem to be having issues. At least on my end they are. Must be the high volume. Also, for some reason Enhanced Steam stopped showing the recorded lowest price - not sure if this is something Steam has blocked...

Wanna double-recommend the use of IsThereAnyDeal. It's great for when two sites are both running deals, as Steam and GOG currently are. Figure out if it's the historical lowest price, wait till it is, then NOM it. Assuming it's not like $1/1.50 already anyway, in which case my view is almost always go for it.
Speaking of, Retro/Grade is supposedly pretty good and it's crazy cheap on Steam right now. $0.50...Only other titles I think I've seen go that low might be Hydrophobia or Tiny & Big.

Cool, I wasn't aware of that site before. It's definitely being added to my repertoire of gaming sites. Retro/Grade looks interesting, thou I'm not a big musical rhythm gamer. But at $0.49 I guess you can't go wrong.

Valkyria Chronicles is on sale. I remember thoroughly enjoying the gameplay and art style on the PS3. Obviously a dated game and not sure how it compares on PC, but it tugged at a heart-string when I saw it.
