Hey friends. I just wanted to show you a little something. One of the last few features the devs around Crytivo are creating right now before the pre alpha release. And here it comes, *BAM* Regards! Edit: I just wish I could make the image a little bit bigger...

I like: Cats; single malt Scotch; Stargate; Amiga; fried potatoes; retro gaming; cheese; snickers; sticky tape.
I don't like: Dimples in the bottom of scotch bottles; Facebook games masquerading as godgames.
Steam: stonelesscutter
GOG: stonelesscutter

What exactly is this image showing?
If you want to make it bigger you can upload it to a site like Imgur and just paste the BB-code link into your post instead of creating an attachment.

This is indeed an auto update feature they are working on. I'm not quite sure if Crytivo will make it possible to update the alpha via steam or others. But I will ask.

And here's what Crytivo's awesome game designer is saying about it as well : Regards

Edit: I just wish I could make the image a little bit bigger... This looks great. A stand-alone launcher, especially with update capabilities, is a good thing. Too many games rely on Steam launcher.

We were thinking of switching over to Steam when we release the full alpha this fall, but needed a patcher system for the prealpha in the meantime. Sebastian did a great job redesigning it

Well, why not have both in different versions? In Steam release, of course, it's redundadnt except some hotfixes.

Sebastian did a great job redesigning it Well big kudos for Sebastian, it's really lovely. I'm a fan of attractive and functional UI design. You have some great artists on staff, truly. Well, why not have both in different versions? In Steam release, of course, it's redundadnt except some hotfixes. I agree, why limit yourself to one launch resource? Not that I despise Steam, or any retail software platform, but we all know not everyone wants to use 3rd party software for their games (there is actually a slight resurgence of this mindset, too) as relying on those services doesn't sit well with independent gamers. I'm glad Steam has been more supportive lately to DRM free games, providing offline support for many games, and at least allows having a game launcher up; however, I see the appeal of actually owning your games and having full control of their installation and a copy of the actual program (of course it's not appealing to game company because if pirating). Once you launch on steam, you can always have a function to allow Steam to update the game, and maybe have an option to skip the provided launcher. I can't recall if you are also planning to go to GoG, or if thus would just be available on Steam. So,TL:DR, keep the launcher, you'll be better for it.

I agree. I like owning my games and prefer not to use steam.
