Crytivo Games explain The Universim's citizens known as NuggetsBy Simon PriestGuiding a whole civilization in The Universim will come down to nurturing Nuggets. Developer Crytivo Games has posted a lengthy expose on their citizen mechanics, and how everything starts with just two Nuggets. Far from a paradise, things start out extremely dangerous and unpredictable, and we'll have to guide them through evolutionary stages to survive. Every Nugget has "characteristics/instincts" that need taking care of. Weather can impact Nuggets significantly by slowing them down or making them more likely to get sick. Each has a life span and a family they raise. Providing durable clothing can better protect them from the elements. Eventually Nuggets can learn the power of speech. "Just as any living creature, Nuggets have a life span. Every Nugget will go through different stages in their life. Their journey begins in the womb of their mother, who will continue to work during pregnancy, albeit at a slower pace. Women are badasses like that, they don’t merely allow any old thing, like, you know, the creation of life inside them, get them down.""After birth, the baby Nugget will grow quite rapidly into a teenage Nugget. It will take some time for them to become an adult and form their own families, though. Storytelling huts and schools will help to speed up this process, causing teenagers to grow faster and become stronger workers."Check out the 'Meet Nuggets' update for The Universim to learn more.
