Another game I backed as a Kickstarter that is turning out really good and fun. It is a remake of a very old game that I never played but sounded really fun. From the site:
Chaos Reborn is a game of battling wizards in which you cast spells and summon creatures in order to defeat your enemy. The game will feature an extensive RPG mode where you can seek knowledge, power and wealth by adventuring in the Realms of Chaos. You will be able to join guilds, trade items and ascend the social ranks in order to become a God.
They are still working on the game but have just released the single player part of the game. Which I have enjoyed a lot. There is an over-world that you explore looking for Wizards to battle to unlock the arch-wizard of the map battle and other events that can give you a boon or a bane depending on how you answer the event.
Once they add the guild/Social meta game you will be able to raise through the ranks of power to be come an arch-wizard or even a demigod or god. I have backed at the Demigod level so have been on the demi/gods forum and have seen a little of the history they are creating for the world and have been able to talk to some of the god backers. There has been a lot of post of god and demigod back stories. So it looks like once this part of the game there will be a big RP community around this game. The gods have also gotten to work some with Allen Stroud the author who is writing a novel for the game, to get their gods in the story.
It is shaping up to be a very fun game. If you like strategy games with a little bit of randomness in the spells you draw with an RPG element of upgrading your equipment and pick what equipment you use it is worth a look.
