Hi guys! Awhile back we did an online play date for Godus on Twitch and chatting together. I had a lot of fun, I think we all did. Let's do this more, not with one specific game but with all sorts of games. We could make a list of games to pull from and put in batches to vote on, they could be through here in our chats or somewhere else, all suggestions are welcome. They could be done with whoever shows up and kept quite flexible. Let's get back to having fun and embrace what we are...gamers and get down to having some real good old fashioned fun together! Any takers? What to talk about start dates? Or add names for a list? Or other ideas? Please discuss here. All Devs are welcome too, this would be a mainly bitch free zone.

Recently my gaming time has been consumed by Rocket League, Destiny and Batman Arkham Knight. Though I am happy to talk/play about anything else

I can occasionally play for a few hours on weekends. I would suggest games that don't require long play sessions or become a grind, and is easy to just jump in and out of - in otheir words, something that doesn't need a lot of focus or time to play. That way it encourages us to interact and we don't get burned out.
It also comes down to something more people are likely to own; ergo, cheaper or older.
I've actually heard Diablo 3 can be a fun group activity, coop or single player - tho not everyone enjoys rpgs.
So, I'm thinking a strategy game, but with a short play scenario (2-4hrs, otherwise it becomes a grueling all-day grinfest); CIV games usually have settings for generating quick game sessions. Does anyone else have Armello? It's a sort of turn-based boardgame/strategy rpg. Look it up - the artwork is gorgeous. Casual games like Game Dev Tycoon can be entertaining. Or maybe we try to speed run some Adventure Games like Monkey Island or Grim Fandango.
I'm working on upgrading my rig soon; it needs a better graphics card soon, and I may possibly get a sound card and capture device. I'm also aquiring an second monitor (my wife's died so I gave her my 21" one). Right now, working on one 24" monitor with an aging graphics card won't be sufficient for Fallout 4.

True, but they're more mainstream and well known, so it's likely most of us own at least one of them.

Maybe one of the free First Person shooters like Team Fortress 2, or any of the many clones. Nothing like blowing up your forum mates.

Even Civ's quick games last around 4-5 hours Not when I'm playing. People tend to quit after 15 minutes coz they already know they gonna lose.
