Well, that went downhill fast. Worst. Excuse. Ever. Even if it was just speculative exposition on potential outcomes given probable factors. Those tend to come back and bite you in the backside if you're not careful.  Now, about this combat we've been hearing about... How's that going? It's been a few weeks since we've heard a solid update on it. Indeed. I was really hoping we would see some improved interaction since the forum calmed down, but it appears to have had the opposite result. |

I mean, isn't he technically the de facto community manager? Or was/is that andy22cans? I can't recall who does what any more. But we haven't seen either in some time. |

This amount of quiet and removal from communication to me generally suggests one of a few things:
* News is going to break they know people won't like and as such the general communications stance is changed to "Don't poke the bear until the spin release is ready. Anything we say now will just go against what's coming".
* Legal goings on meaning the company is 'advised' to avoid making any statements or comments that may suggest or otherwise be used to infer pretty much anything at all until such things are concluded.
* Some kind of 'restructuring' that normally means a dressed up version of acquisition, this ties in with the 2nd possibility where due to various legal elements being drummed up to do with the 'restructuring' there is a blanket policy to disengage from saying much of anything about anything.
Entirely speculatively but given the relative poor momentum with the project both on PC and Mobile it wouldn't at all surprise me is DeNa wasn't taking action against 22Cans for failure to meet certain contractual conditions and being unable to reach new reworked conditions (plus the possibility of agreed compensation to DeNa if such conditions failed to be met).
But we'll see. But personally I'm beyond really caring unless the developments involve a clear non-harassment means to get a refund for failure to deliver what was advertised and a clear disregard for ever doing so as project lead whims changed.

I'm surprised we haven't seen more progress on the Trail. Everything else is just delaying tactics until that revenue stream comes on board.

Does anyone really think that when the trial launches, opening up this second revenue stream for 22 cans, that they would actually commit to investing any of that back into the now obviously failed PC Godus game, it's reception and reputation I would argue has already been critically undermined, so the chance for them to make any real return on investment into it must be almost nill, instead they will more than likely just use any incoming funds to create their next game, and set aside just a minimal amount to keep godus in a perpetual state of early access development.

Maybe they are going quite because something (be)trail is coming out soon and they want us to nod off? Or maybe building a wall for the coming storm spawned by the combat release? Or maybe maybe just hunkered down and working. But I would have thought they would at least have a community guy out and about. I dropped by their forums and even the people wanting to say good things there can't and get no responses for what they do.

Steam Mods seem to only comment on positive posts and pretty much move anything negative they can thats not "general Godus" to the subforums. But Godus interest is dying out just as they appear to want it to. I wonder if combat will be the final nail in the coffin, especially as there are no published plans for after. If interest picks up after combat, maybe we will get another sprint but in what area? Especially if Universim takes off they must be a direct competitor for players. Also "The Trail" has had 9 month + of dev time now. I wonder when there will be a demo for that (I honestly think they might release it under a different name, so to avoid 22cans negativity) and I think it will be a tablet/phone only game as it seems that is Peters focus. |

I wouldn't be at all surprised if they put PC development on hold and moved to mobile again. It would explain the lack of progress and updates.
