@13 don't forget about kickstarter, who some might argue should be the main location where communication should be taking place, because without it Godus would not exist in the first place, so you would think they owe some loyalty to that platform as a result, the comments section continues to be devoid of 22 cans presence. and when was the last update to kickstarter backers March 19th, so official communication is also a terminal flat line.

Things are still in progress, Simon and Colin are still there. You haven't been abandoned. Why can't Colin, the PR Manager and defacto Community Manager, tell us this himself or even provide answers to questions he promised to get replies to two weeks ago? I mean, he's been logging in every day of his self-imposed adventure in silence, so I'm really quite confused as to why he's so reluctant to talk to us, as Colin clearly isn't incapacitated or somehow unable to access the site. He's even stopped giving us those ludicrous excuses for his and Simon's perpetual avoidance of the Kickstarter forums, Steam forums, and these forums, which certainly says something in that regard. Fifty-fifty chance that if he finally arrives, we'll be treated to another rendition of the "I'm the real victim here" show. |

So there is no one let to update the remaining players? It's quickly approaching three weeks, and the devs participating in discussion on the last update fell silent very quickly. There's nobody but mods on Steam forums. And the last community manager post on the Official forums was months ago. |

Interesting conclusions can be drawn from comparing Konrad's writing style in his posts here and on the Steam forums to "his" writing style in these updates. Very interesting conclusions indeed.

I wonder how zero interaction for 3 weeks in an early access title is allowed in steam. Are there no steam rules around that?
I know the mods are still lurking but where and what the hell is/are the developer(s)/designers and CM/PR (if there are any!) doing? it really is a horrible way to treat customers in any line of business.
I guess they are close to throwing out their polished combat update and are hoping that will amuse people for a while, but even if that is what your doing have the decency tell us that.

With the way the company is I would expect everything to be run through the company filter before being posted. But then I would expect anything officially coming from any company to be run through a company filter. Just to make it all nice and clean and to make sure everyone is on the same page. I do not agree when it is used as a tool to hide things but can accept when it is used rightly to make sure someone is not perceived as promising something the team has not agreed on and can not deliver on.

They've been working on the "combat update" (allegedly) for over 9 months now. That's how long it took them to create the first PC release of Godus. Its ludicrous that this piece of work has taken so long, and does not bode well for any future updates. We've been told in the past that the reason it takes so long to implement anything is because the Godus codebase is a horrible mess, and any time you touch it it breaks in multiple places - probably a consequence of PM's haphazard version of "iterative design". The whole thing is quite obviously screwed.
They've also admitted that putting out new releases is a massive ballache involving multiple people beyond the 2 junior developers/interns/school children on work experience assigned to work on development. Those people are all busy working on The Trail.

Playing Godus doesn't make you the messiah, just a very naughty boy! ps. I'm sorry for taking the discussion off topic. It's good to see there is still some poeple trying to hold 22cans to account. But when they can't even be bothered to answer questions in one of the very few update threads they started then it all feels a bit futile, to say the least. |

The situation is just stupid. There is no plan, no effective communication and no hope of redemption. We don't even bother to post much to complain anymore, only coming back to post messages to prove we are still witnessing this debacle.
