This is something i've been wondering about for a while now, as it seams that the frequency of posting of new godus topics has fallen to an all time low. We used to have numerous concurrent threads being discussed with many participants, now its starting to feel like somewhat of a ghost town around here.
So my question is, are we witnessing the death of the community? or has everyone just checked out for a while until the next substantial update comes down the line? Or is it all just in my head, and everything running smoothly like before?

There is nothing new to talk about and there is almost zero interaction from 22cans themselves. That is the problem I see. I check on here regularly, but there is nothing new to discuss. Even the latest update is just to tell us they've changed some artwork. 3 weeks wait for that priceless titbit.

Yeah it has been feeling quite dead to me too. I'm hoping that things will liven up when the combat update is released but as it stands now I don't expect that to be anytime soon. When it finally is released I don't think anyone will even care anymore.

Slightly off topic From my facebook games feed - Now the last played date is wrong but is the 50,000 players? Also I'm assuming it relates to the mobile version I was playing.

I would assume that is everyone that has tried the game at least once. Once you have played a game you are now a player even if you only ever loaded the game and thought this is not for me and closed it with out going past the start menu.

I'm more excited about universim going to pre-alpha and us getting some player reviews to digest.
I've been meaning to write a post about just how ludicrous the whole godus situation is but haven't got around to it. We've waited an enternity for combat and when it arrives what? Will it make godus a good game? No. Will it resolve its lack of identity? No.
I'm not saying this with vitriol. I think this situation is silly. I'm just glad like GMR I can move on and play other things rather than be forced to live in this farce.
That came off a bit angry. I'm not angry, I'm like a parent when your kid takes a shit and rubs it on their own face.

Just waiting till the next update, meanwhile I've better, finished games to enjoy. Honestly I'm waiting for the update after combat. While I appreciate all the work they're doing, and think that a solid combat system is important to turning Godus into something resembling a game... I always wanted to play Godus as a benevolent / pacifist god, so it doesn't hold much interest for me personally. I really wish they'd just tell us what they had in mind for after combat.

I've always got the impression that combat was essentially their "We can't get permission to do anything else, so lets work on this and hopefully convince the powers that be to let us to something properly with Godus as a whole after showing them the results" effort. Though with how long combat has been going on as the dedicated focus, I can see it somewhat backfiring and ending up with a reaction of "What? And spend another year just on that new effort? Sorry but you need to downscale and simplify to what can be done quick with little cost".

Erm....it's dead Jim. I would go as far as to suggest that there is actually no one left in the office. This is how it ends....just quietly....fades away....like my poor old cat a few months back...he just left and sat under the hedge and stopped existing!
