I picked this game up about 2 years ago after see it was a god game, a fun one, from the main guy on B&W, at first I downloaded 1.3, thought it was cool and decided to buy it to get the latest versions that were on steam. Good god how I regret it 2 years later, back then it actually looked promising, I was excited to play Godus, I checked the forum like crazy to see what would happen next and when then next update would be. I waited and waited, nothing until 2.0 came out, it was fun at first, but I soon saw that it was one step forward, 3 steps back, as then it was silence again for the next couple of months, then we got mobile port, again a couple of months, we get Frontier, then here we are about present day with "combat". I can't even get myself to play the game threw for the 7th or 8th time to see whats new, I just can't be bothered to unlock every shrine, do bug-frontier, grind the resources, do the damn voyages, I just can't. I'd refund this game for a heart beat, even if I only get a fraction of my 20 € back. This is not the game I wanted, and no after 2 years of BS excuses and delays you can't even say "oh its early access what did you expect, wait for it to finish". I remember reading somewhere that Godus was almost finished when 1.3 came out. That the later stages were just locked because there are too many bugs for it to go live. I can see that was all bs. What is the future of Godus? I mean I can just imagen that the game journalists are gonna tear it a new one, like they did in January, the guy behind the rock, paper, shotgun article is going to have a field day, if theres an interview again. At what point does Steam step in and say, enough is enough, you had more then enough time to deliver this game, now its time to close up shop and do something else? It just boggles the mind. Steam doesn't do anything, "22cans doesn't issue refunds" - cause we all know if they did, they'd go bankrupt, and we're just stuck here twiddling our thumbs in limbo, just waiting for that final heartbeat to die, for it to finally get released and bombarded by the press, so when the trail releases, if it will, it gets utterly destroyed as well, or its pulled by steam/valve and we all get refunds. I can't see any other future for Godus.
