This is part of the current GOG weekend sale and...I don't know why, but I was drawn to it. I couldn't make heads or tails of the screenshots though, and descriptions didn't seem sufficient either. So I found a demo! And oh man, it's probably just me, but there's something strangely charming about this game.
You start the game with a humble little hub and a small bit of energy. You have an array of options at your disposal set under categories of energy cost: 1, 3, and 7. Your main goal should first be to locate energy pools, which are these pinkish/fuschiaish puddles, and then extend little energy nodes near/on them to increase the amount of energy you get each round. Past that, you just expand however you like and try to smash your opponent, be it with bombs, cluster bombs, missiles, or laying traps with mines...and somehow viruses are thrown in the mix, but I haven't learned how those work yet.
What's maybe even more fun about it though, is that if you destroy the connecting hub/node behind another node, not only is it destroyed, but its extended nodes are too, leading to a sort of domino destruction effect!
Do be careful though, buildings can only be placed on flat terrain, so you can easily waste energy if you misfire one, either too short or too far and land right on a ridge...'Cause in this game, placing structures is actually a matter of carefully launching them from your hubs by holding down the launch button to adjust distance.
...I'm not doing it justice in describing it, however. If you find the time and are into strategy games, definitely give this a look! It's totally unlike anything else I've dabbled with before.
