I just purchased Loom as part of a Lucasarts adventure pack and played this game for the first time. Already finished it, not a particularly hard game. Although I must say I think I picked the easiest level so I'll have to play the harder versions some other time.
Interesting game. Really like the originality of the way your character interacts with the world around him. No "look at", "talk to", "pick up", "combine" nonsense. Just one way of interacting that makes everything possible.
Gotta say, I think the one who came up with the concept of this game must have been on acid or something. Especially considering the end of the game.

I played Loom way back when it was released in 1990. It really was a very interesting game and remains with me to this day as favorite because of how different it was and for the story. There were supposed to be two more related games, based on the other guilds, called Forge and The Fold. However, unfortunately the team was placed on another title (Indiana Jones, I believe) and nobody seemed interested in continuing development thus they were cancelled due to lack of support. Sadly, Disney now holds all LucasArts properties.
