I believe in that instance, Churchill was using it as V for victory, rather than the more common (in the UK) pejorative usage. I always thought that two fingers like that with the back of the hand is FU two fingers like that palm to you was V for Victory. But I am American so do not know for sure. Well, modernly, it is. But Winston Churchill personally used that gesture to signify victory palm to away from (only noticed the typo a day after) the audience. And at his time, the gesture wasn't as common. |

I don't see how 22cans can believe any good will come from this 3rd sustained period of silence. It's like they never learned a thing despite all the words to the contrary. |

Yes, that was the apparent reason though the turn of "defiance" into both "victory" and <expletive> are a very difficult topic, as with all kinds of language. |

I'm just going to add this here. Has anyone watched this video? It came up in google search as "within the last week" although it is clearly old. I've seen versions of it but not this version. It shouts betrayal on so many levels. I particularly like how it repeats lies we know aren't going to happen like "Jupiter" which given where we are it is just false advertising. I'd never seen a trailer with an ipad in it or Peter's dirty finger. The URL of the video suggests it was made, posted, and soon forgotten sometime in 2014 - sort of like another relic - the roadmap. Those new to 22cans, even if they have been around a while but only spoke up after the employee departures made it necessary, may be asking - "WTF is roadmap?!" Here it is: www.22cans.com/godus-roadmap-where-are-we-headed/How the hell did they start with this plan and end up at the current shitpile? This is hardly "overpromising" at all - this is charting out for polar bears and ending up with penguins. The roadmap - along with the "trailer" have linked - will be a number of items among display of this museum exhibit of industry fail, and not as any of the good parts, but rather as evidence of how development went wrong. |
