Okay, so to mainly check out the graphics I tried it out. I played for a few hours. I got to the point of victory over first 3 battles. Here is how I feel.
I think it is sad it took this long to get this little. It is better than regular Godus in a sense but I would say only in a one percent out of a hundred percent better. It lacks in other ways that Godus does not, and barely makes up what Godus lacks.
First of all, it feels like an a substandard game not a professional game that took almost 2.5 years to make. Also, bullshit this is another game. This is just the war aspect of the Godus game they started and scrapped 3 other times. It shows more greed to market this as an expansion or bundle and rob more money while still never finishing the Kickstarter rewards in any way. They prove it by saying the purchase date was in 2013, which is ummm......when I backed Godus, not any game called Godus Wars.
The game takes forever to load and it irritates me that they could not spring for a progress bar of any sorts so that I can see that there is an end in sight. Wow has a progress bar and so does Sims, so I can forgive the time they take to load. Plus, well, duh, their games are hella more complex...and good. So, why does it take forever to load? Next the controls feel like they only work half the time. I have to fight with both the mouse and the trackpad to grab the land and to make my warriors go where I want them to go to. or get my Citadels to stabilize. Why make me left click to select, then right click to activate, then right click to tell my warriors where to go...and it is not just right click, it is right click and hold, which I hate while I am trying to save my village from attackers. Find a way to make it easier to send my troops like Civilization and Populous did.
I find it really confusing overall. I thought this game was Peter's idea of "ZEN". What is so zen about having to make land to build your people up and constantly go fight? I said this all along, it should be my CHOICE if I want to be in battle mode or not. Now, since your original game is crap and undone and all you work on is a watered down battle adventure, there is no sign of game promised in sight. So what is it, Zen or Fight? Somebody should explain these two things are the opposite of each other. This is like they made a "pets" expansion for a Sims game but only let you watch the dogs and cats walk around and not interact with the other sims. It makes no sense. Why make a Godus Wars when you did not finish GODUS? Expansions come AFTER you release a finished base game.
I now can see this as no longer Farmville, but instead as Mafia Wars or Fashion Wars on Facebook. It's still a cookie cutter Free to Play, Pay to Win game. So, they made a Farmville game called Godus ,F2P, then they bundled it with a Mafia Wars game called Godus Wars, F2P. Really bad when you look at the big picture, just beyond bad.
My biggest issue is ultimately how bad the controls of the game are. I don't find it zen trying to grab land 4 times, and cussing out my warriors that won't catch their loop while I watch my belief tower get destroyed. My hand hurts a bit again which reminds me of their first attempt at Godus from 2 years ago. Also, what happened to the STORYLINE that was supposed to exist in Godus? Didn't we hit past that backer goal?
Lastly, the cards are just dumb in my opinion and again just feel like something added to the game for future monetization reasons and add no real interest to the game, maybe because they are just poorly done with no progression that creates any type of incentive for me to collect and/or use them.
I will try again for a bit and see what I else I can get from it and then I will most likely remove from my computer.
