Anyone else think it's funny how the 22 cans mainpage does not even mention Godus Wars? (well, ok, it is sometimes mentioned in the twitter feed ticker)
Should it not be on there prominently, especially as Godus has 'always been 2 games' in Peter's mind?
Also a funny quote from that mainpage (emphasis mine)... 'Spread your followers across vast uncharted lands until you meet the rest of the world. All lands in Godus are connected. Up to millions of gods and billions of civilisations.'
Lolwut?
It also still promotes the myth that Godus has more future 'ages'... 'Lead them on an epic journey through history from the primitive age through to the space age.'
If you press the 'Get the beta on Steam' button you land on the Godus community page and can navigate to the (original) Godus page from there... and that page seems to have it's descriptions more or less deleted, though they missed the bit to the right of the screenshots... that still says: 'If you’ve not had the chance to play our delightful, Zen-like re-genesis of the god game on Windows PC or Mac OS X, there’s never been a better time to do so! Now more than ever, as we’re currently making full use of our opt-in branch by running a rapid build release schedule during our PC-focused sprint.'
Again... lolwut!
I'm not really surprised by all this, but it's still sad.

Much like the absent CM that led to other social media channels being often neglected or outright forgotten, something I seeded in a few places roams around until everyone is talking about the elephant du jour. Or it's just that damn obvious to anyone and everyone and common sense isn't such a superpower anymore. We have been mentioning things like this, recurring themes, for times around the last year* of Godus' development. For a while we kept having to remind them of how many developers they had working upon Godus in the Daily Updates because to keep having folks - who had up until then had never posted on the Godus forums - asking if there were really just FOUR developers on a title that was said to be in "full production" because of how many that could be listed in an update. Negative PR direction, there, which should have been obvious. Also, the producer should have that list every morning. This was later made into an even bigger problem when it appeared that not even the new PR seemed interested in making Godus compliant with Early Access rules to have the old 1.3 patch descriptions that were used in routine sales by 22cans changed to reflect the proper state of product. 22cans' answer was...Godus Wars, which they even forget to feature upon their own site. Or maybe didn't forget, since a lot of other things point towards this whole thing being a negative publicity stunt, and titles not listed upon a developer's site is a form of Alan Smithee. Now 22cans has doubled-down on the previous inconsistency with how the tin is labeled to sell their own product from their own site while their own site doesn't accurately reflect the state of product. 22cans have hidden behind Early Access caveats for unfinished product, now going on two Voyages into Early Access Hell, that now should start being 22cans' time to show some responsibility towards the spirit of that same program. That involves feedback and proper state of product. It seems like nothing anyone has said or suggested, fan or betrayed alike, has really made much of an impact upon what 22cans does; I do believe reverse psychology, snark, gallows humour, pleading, asskissing, deitification, blind adolation, and most importantly, sad puppy eyes and kittens, have all been tried at some point and at many points by many different people. This suggests that there isn't much truth to 22cans wanting "positive discussion zones" in their forum, because they just seemed to take thanks and run while not really expanding upon that discussion as if they knew how futile it was to discuss it - more effort has been put forth towards hiding actual conversation on the Steam forums than has been put towards the release of Godus Wars. In time, all have been ignored at some point or another for many months to years on end, even upon 22cans' own "home turf". * - Some, since ever, considering that even SamVT - the fellow who promoted the Kickstarter itself - was surprised that 22cans still remembered the login info. IIRC, and Lord Ba'al will probably add more detail, this very forum was from a previous closure of 22cans' own forums. Also - this explains the Twitch stream (along with trying to keep Godus Wars as much of a secret until they could get a good laugh from it all).

No it was not a closure. It was because they started to censor their forum, editing and deleting posts without notice or even a good reason. That's when I set up this forum.
