Just saw Man of Steel. I must say I found it a rather weird movie. In the beginning it felt a bit like Star Wars to me, not very Superman-like. Then it was followed by a big portion of not so much action. There were some flashbacks and -forwards going on in a seemingly random order. Then in the end there was quite a lengthy scene which was somewhat reminiscent of one from Independence Day which featured near continuous destruction of some city, probably New York judging from all the huge buildings coming down. Here and there it also had a Matrix feel to it. All in all I have to admit that I didn't really like this movie as much as I wanted to. I absolutely loved Superman Returns and for me this one was definitely a step down from there, despite some big actors being involved such as Kevin Costner and Russell Crowe. I recognised a few actors from Battlestar Galactica in there as well. And ofcourse Laurence Fishburne, who looked a little poofier than before. I have to say I didn't think Superman looked very handsome, except for the shots in the beginning where he had the beard. But who am I to judge, after all I'm not a woman. All in all this movie just felt off to me and I hope they won't make another one similar to this. Anyone else seen this?

I saw it. I rather liked it. It might be because I am getting tired of super hero movies and this one had the scifi reboot feel to it. I also think that the two main actors rocked their roles.

I liked it. Set up the new DC movie-verse. There's lots of news on the sequel. It'll have Affleck as Batman, Gal Gadot as Wonder Woman, and Jesse Eisenberg as Lex Luthor. I'm mostly iffy with Gal Gadot, but we'll see.

Don't get me wrong, I love Xmen and the Avengers is great fun, but I really loved the Lego Movie because it was fresh and DIFFERENT. Had a really funny Batman song in it too.

I think that the German girl playing the combat commander ( short black hair, serious attitude ) did a great job [Not that I'm biased or anything, being German myself] Lego the Movie was hilarious! The Ending was a bit unexpected, but the whole Story arc and the characters and how each and every one complimented the story ( Good Cop, Bad Cop, Batman, the coffee shop guy [yes, even unimportant characters], the pirate captain, the Unikitty .... ) was just great

It'll have Affleck as Batman Don't remind me. I think he has potential. They can't bring back Bale because that iteration of Batman is done. Affleck brings more than himself to the table, he has directing experience and other people with him. This fan trailer sort of shows his potential: I liked it. Set up the new DC movie-verse. I'm tired of bad comic book movies, Marvel's been getting away with a lot of mediocre movies as of late because of their Avengers success. I'm sort of a fan of comic book movies anyways. Don't really like X-Men as a whole so much, nor the new Spider-Man.

I almost HATE the new Spider man movies. The actor just does not cut it for me.

Yep, me too. He's too much of a hipster and sounds like he hasn't quite gotten past puberty yet. I prefer dorky Peter Parker rather than this metro hipster.

Yes, and I don't think there was any need or desire in my part for another spiderman movie at all. There must be a billion other superheroes out there, they need to start reading my comic books and utilize some more of them. Daredevil and Elecktra might not have been the best movies, but I enjoyed both of them more than the new Spiderman movies. Sure you take the risk of a Green Lantern, but I don't blame the Super Hero himself for that, just bad writing. If you can make a great movie about Lego then you should be able to make a great one about any Super Hero. Bring on UnderDog! LOL.

Sony put out a Spidey movie so they could keep the rights rather than hand it back over to Marvel? and Disney? or something like that. But yeah, you could see it was a rush job. From Marvel's comic book characters and the film rights, Sony has Spider Man, Fox has X-Men, and Marvel/Disney has the rest I think. Daredevil is getting a reboot sort of in Netflix? Hold on. Got it: screenrant.com/marvel-netflix-series-new-york/Excerpt: "Last year, the comic book film production house announced a deal with Netflix, where the streaming entertainment service will premiere four original Marvel Studio TV series – Daredevil, Jessica Jones, Luke Cage and Iron Fist – before the shows’ eponymous characters (being residents of Hell’s Kitchen in Manhattan, NY) are featured together in an Avengers-style team-up mini-series, with The Defenders."

Movies are pretty slim pickin these days, so I will give it a go. We did go with a group of people to see Lego Movie and there was a nice long trailer for the Muppet movie. I laughed my ass off through most of it. The women in the group pretty much decided we want to go see that one next.
